The only time I honk when it's not an actual emergency is if somebody at the front of a right turn lane isn't making a legal right on red when there's no cross traffic. And it's mostly just a short beep to wake them up because they're probably just on their phone.

Not frequently. Ill do it more often in instances to alert them if things. Like, if they start veering into my lane because Im in their blind spot. Or if 3+ seconds pass and they havent seen that the light is green (the quick *Beep Beep*, and not just laying on the horn).

Stuff like that.

i can't remember the last time i honked at another driver. i don't even know what the horn sounds like on the new used car i bought earlier this year lol.

Not really. Even if I should I'll often forget in the moment of trying not to be crashed into.

The one thing I do is the wake up tap if the light turns green/the car ahead of them has gone and they haven't moved after a couple seconds.

If you pull out in front of me in anyway which causes me to brake, or turn in front of me without signal, you're getting the horn.

Also 3 second rule at a turn light, if you're not moving after 3 seconds you're getting the horn.

Generally no unless its something really annoying and theyre right there, like someone who goes through red light and gets stuck in the middle of the intersection because they blatantly ignored the clearly backed up traffic.

no reason to, i guess. i don't live in a big city or anything. most of the highway where i live is only 2 lanes, 3 in some places. people aren't generally all that crazy on the road around here. sometimes you'll get someone cutting you off or weaving in and out of the lanes or whatever, but it's just not worth honking over.

Yeah, it used to be that I rarely used my horn but now you have to because of people looking at their phone and not noticing when the light turns green.

Typically I only honk when they sit at a green light for more that 4 seconds, and even then it's a light tap. If someone tries to cause a wreck I'm usually more focused on staying safe / veering than hitting the horn; but if I'm already pissed / edgy and something like that happens I'll lay on the horn.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.

Sometimes. I'm usually a patient driver but if someone's not paying attention (like potentially putting me in danger or just not going at a green light) I'll use it.

Sometimes, If someone does something dangerous. My horn is the trigger to save video clips from the cameras, so I use it when I might need to have video of something that happens on the road.

Once in a while yeah. I should probably stop. I use it in 3 places: somebody almost gonna hit me, somebody cuts me off, somebody runs a red light.

The red means it's been red for a solid 2+ seconds and they just kept on speeding through.

I'm thinking I should stop unless it's really egregious behavior, like the red light...so late my light is green. Idk

When I have to. Had to honk at someone today cause they were coming from the opposite way and were drifting onto my lane at 70km/h
