A new survey found 47% of U.S. voters believe colleges should ban pro-Palestinian protests, compared to 30% who say the demonstrations should be permitted. A slightly smaller number 41% would ban pro-Israel protests.
The vast majority of voters 76% also said they support colleges asking police to protect campuses from violence.
The survey was conducted April 27-28, before the latest police crackdowns of recent days, including the New York Police Departments removal of activists who had occupied a building on the campus of Columbia University; the Los Angeles Police Departments breakup of a pro-Palestinian encampment at the University of California, Los Angeles, that had previously been attacked by pro-Israel demonstrators; and Thursdays arrest of 90 people at Dartmouth College.
If you asked these voters why they support Israel, what would their answers be?Apparently, these voters will claim they're fighting against antisemitism.
If you asked these voters why they support Israel, what would their answers be?Most would answer something about religion and wanting to be raptured or some nonsense.
If you asked these voters why they support Israel, what would their answers be?
It's a little eerie how hyper-focused Humble Novice is on s***ting upon leftists and pro-Palestinian sentiment."Online leftists!"
If you asked these voters why they support Israel, what would their answers be?That Palestinians are terrorists.
But to answer the poll, polls in general are worthless these days. Also, this.
I bet the number would be lower if not for mainstream news spreading misinformation about the protestsAnd this.
If you asked these voters why they support Israel, what would their answers be?A. Palestine is a failed state that can't control extremist groups and is therefore a threat to Israels national security
It's honestly pretty disgusting how quick this country is to latch onto the "let's be more mad at the people who are mad at injustices & inequality than about the actual injustice & inequality" argument. If it's any consolation, the protestors will be remembered as being on the right side of history years later, just as they were every other time you mentioned.
It starts with right-wingers, who have always demonized these groups in regards to Vietnam, Civil Rights, Unions, police brutality (BLM most recently), anti-GWB war protestors. Our media legitimizes their narratives and propaganda, which over time leads to the general society internalizing it as well. Our media played the largest role for getting us into Iraq and continuing the GWB war machine's support.
I sadly expect this 47% to rise as the GOP and our mainstream media turns these "anti-genocide" protests into "anti-Israeli/Jew" protests.
If it's any consolation, the protestors will be remembered as being on the right side of history years later, just as they were every other time you mentioned.
Okay, but how many actually support the protests? Btw I had to vote the last option evem though I dont think polls are 100% at all.
