If you look at the reports coming out of Portland, OR from the PSU campus arrests, a lot of them weren't even students who were onsite smashing up the library and other buildings. It's starting to feel like a repeat of the shit that happened in 2020 when it was BLM, ANTIFA, and the Proud Boys.

I don't give two shits about the protests, but why break shit and vandalize everything? And why the fuck are they acting like they need humanitarian aid and compare this to the Tienanmen Square massacre lmao. Privileged kids trying to act out I guess.

You do know that the majority of student protesters were peaceful? Hell, the Rutgers encampment was closed down by the protesters themselves after their demands were met by the university.

And how nice of you to equate BLM protesters with the Proud Boys. Even the FBI admitted that the majority of BLM protesters were peaceful. A large number of violent incidents were exaggerated by right wing media or infiltrators like the Boogaloo Boys, who used the protest to murder officers.

Title is asking how you feel about the protests. Most of the students are peaceful, with a few troublemakers (vandals, you could say) causing trouble alongside the police escalating things.

So why feel negative in regards to the majority of peaceful students? Please clarify if this is just a misunderstanding.

I feel negative about the protests because vandals came to these sites and have done the same shit that they did back in 2020 after George Flloyd's murder, and even back in 2011/2012 when we had the Occupy Wallstreet movement. Every time you get people who come in, start vandalizing (and sometimes looting), and it dilutes the coverage of whatever the initial protest was about. And I like using Portland as the standard to measure against because that summer was absolutely insane, because it was the Proud Boys who went to Portland with their convoys and kept escalating matters.

Also, like I said in an earlier post, reports are coming out of Portland that a lot of arrests that have been made weren't even students. I won't be surprised if the same will be for UCLA and Columbia. So, as I said initially, the vandals should be arrested and held accountable. Plain, simple language.

Sadly, I feel that these forms of protest just aren't as effective as they were in the 20th century, and that students shouldn't be using college campuses and should instead taking their protests to the state capitals and put the pressure directly on the politicians.
