Like some other body made that decision for me and I need to lower my head and take it because that's the way it is, it has nothing to do with me personally but it's my responsibility to feel bad about it.
You're too focused on yourself in this scenario. People don't dislike America because of you specifically, they dislike it because the country and it's leadership has been absolutely shitty. It may be unfair to be included with them, but that's the price of being part of a country. We all take that reputation hit.
I'm disgusted by this country, and I tried to stop this.

Yep, it sucks. It's also the reputation our country has cultivated for a long time. We as the individual don't matter, because it's not you or I that's in control.
