They're going to add it to the ToS before they clarify what the "politics ban" actually means.
Fandom sucks and is a large part of the cancer killing the Internet.

I don't know which is worse -- Toast being legit upset that Fandom was getting dumped on, or Toast being ordered by Fandom to make that post and him doing it.

Well I mean, DToast is just an employee. Im not sure why people cant seem to grasp this. Its almost para social in a way.

Meaning, folks want something to yell and scream at something so badly that they keep on giving executive traits to DToast that he doesnt even have.

Its all really just being done so that disgruntled users have a collective outlet by which to direct their rage at.

But in reality its like screaming at the Starbucks Barista because the company took away Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

In that regard, I could understand DToast not wanting a bunch of users that fall under his management to go on and be insulting his employer. It just looks really bad, and the blowback (whatever that might be) may actually end up unjustifiably falling onto him.

I mean quite obviously its not his fault that a bunch of users are being very vocal in their displeasure of Fandom, but at the same time it is a very logical assumption that his higher ups are eventually going to ask him please get you all to stop.

but DToast still isnt going to have the executive power to give into the users demands so it probably isnt going to stop, and that really is too bad.

Ultimately by making tons of topics that are basically just saying

[insert explicit language here] Fandom

youre just making a normal dudes life potentially miserable. Its not cool.

Its better to give legitimate constructive criticism/feedback. Voice your complaints, but in a way that doesnt get DToast pulling his hair in frustration.

That's one of the main issues. We used to have people in charge who are genuinely passionate about this site and it's success.

DToast is just some dude who works for a company that barely knows who we are. The other admin doesn't even have 100 logged days on his account.

You can't grow a site this old by doing the same old corporate bullshit that's ruined sites fresher than this. Is this DToast's fault? No, he's just a worker.

But unfortunately his job is to basically take the heat, as all community managers tend to do when their company does something stupid and unpopular.

As for constructive criticism, I guess your memory isn't the best because both our admins made two feedback topics.

Only to inform us that literally none of it matters because Fandom already decided months ago what they were going to do all this.

If Toast doesn't want to be frustrated, he can take it up with Fandom or quit. I don't feel especially sympathetic towards anyone waving that company's flag right now.

They have to ban a lot more people for it before clarifying it in the rules. You know, like people who are good at communication do.
Rage is a hell of an anesthetic.
It's already against the ToU for trolling in some circumstances, since D_Toast and Timmy are fandom employees, and there are posters who might like Fandom (e.g. it's like insulting a movie, celebrity, game, etc.) Whether or not Fandom and the mods are applying it fairly, I have no idea (though I don't have much faith that they do, esp. if D_Toast is modding them directly)

Keep in mind of course that on Gamefaqs, you have always been far more likely to get modded for trolling if your post doesn't contain anything (or very little) that is constructive other than "X sucks/blows/inhales/is stupid"

I would give examples, but the last time I did that regarding something, I got a 10KL-- you're not allowed to do that anymore because you might be coyly trying to "test the boundaries" or weasel around the ToU is my guess.

People should give them a break. They're only trying to make the site more welcoming to new visitors by killing a board new visitors couldn't see in the first place. Solid strategy.
