It was one of the crew members they accidently fused and they forced him to defuse, killing him via the transporter I think. He was a friendly crew member.

I think it was Star Trek but I might be wrong.

And if Voyager wasn't such a episodic show that decision would have had far ranging consequences for crew morale and how people viewed her. Instead, it was never mentioned again and everyone just goes on about their lives as if Janeway hadn't ordered a man killed.

Naomi mentions it in a much later episode, very casually. She's telling an interesting story as opposed to recounting a murder.

Justice for Tuvix.
Only two things can end a Republican's career - a dead girl or a live boy.
Idk, two people were alive at the end of that episode, rather than one. Janeway did what had to be done.

Thought this was about the episode where the Doctor gets possessed by a nuclear bomb lol

Ya, They even poked fun of it in Star Trek lower decks after they had the same accident happen
Janeway made the right call.
You're thinking Voyager and everyone, even the cast, hated that episode.

The fact that were still arguing about it 30 years later proves that the writers did a good job coming up with a moral dilemma that had no right answer.

Not to mention that usually when Star Trek has a dilemma like this, the last part of the episode introduces some deus ex machine that lets them have their cake and eat it too. I actually like that this time they had the captain actually have to make the tough choice and stick with it.

To be fair, we're not arguing over the dilemma

We're arguing over the weak writing of Voyager that it never came up again and wasn't refected in Janeways inconsistent character.

She broke the Prime directive and stranded hundreds of people in the Delta Quadrant just to save random aliens because she's so virtuous. But then murdered someone because doing so increased their chances of getting home after beng stranded for being so virtuous.

Picard would be willing to go to war to save 1 dude even if he didn't like them.

I agree Janeways characterization is inconsistent. And Star Trek does have a bad habit of putting life-altering events in their episodes and then never mentioning them again.

But the dilemma itself was good writing. On the Star Trek subreddit people still hotly debate whether she did the right thing or not. You can already see opposing opinions in this thread. Thats why I think it was a good episode.

The episode is great. Like Maze_ said, it's only in the context of the series that it's not good.

Yeah I'm not knocking the episode and Janeway's decision makes cold Stalinesq sense.

But like a lot of Voyager, it's all just wasted potentinal.
