So I am reading this article on VOX newsWell, at least he's stepping down from his unelected position as tyrant.
https://www.vox.com/world-politics/2024/3/12/24098422/haiti-prime-minister-ariel-henry-resigns-gang-violence-g9
but I have never figured out who VOX is. There is a right wing Spanish party called VOX.They're a news media website. Seem left-leaning, if anything.
Wait for real?Okay so I may have posted that too soon. Apparently the video that's circulating the internet (and getting taken down fairly quickly) is actually from 2021 and involves a completely different person. Still appears to be real unfortunately.
the US didn't give enough aid after that major hurricane disaster a few years back(no, Trump throwing paper towels at people doesn't help rebuild after almost the whole country is destroyed). almost all the aid we sent was misused and and didn't help the people at all.If the aid we gave was misused, how would giving more do any good? Also, it seems obvious that if any nation is to intervene it should be The Dominican Republic.

Dominican Republic hates Haiti since they got invaded by Haiti long time ago.Well, Then they are incredibly stupid. Its like if you lived in a duplex, and the other unit is on fire, but you refuse to do anything about it, because you dont like them.
You cant expect them to help

At the Dajabn border crossing between the Dominican Republic and Haiti , a constant stream of trucks pulls up carrying undocumented Haitian migrants, who are being deported back to their home country.
" I'd been in the Dominican Republic for three years," yelled construction worker, Michael Petiton, "they came into my house and took me from my home."
He worked hard, he insisted, doing a job most Dominicans did not want. Now he is back in Haiti with only the clothes on his back and a few tools he managed to salvage in a rucksack.
The message the Dominican Republic appears to be sending is no matter how bad things become at home, Haitians should not seek refuge on Dominican territory.
Last month, the country's president, Luis Abinader, demanded in an appearance before the United Nations Security Council in New York that the international community step up aid to Haiti and deploy a multinational force there.
He urged the UN to "fight together to save Haiti", but warned that if no help was forthcoming, his country would "fight alone to protect the Dominican Republic".
Questioned last week about the possibility of receiving Haitians fleeing unrest, Mr Abinader categorically ruled out accepting refugee camps on Dominican soil.
What's the end goal of these gangs? I mean, what are they getting out of this? Are they going to attempt to govern the country themselves or just shoot it up until they're the only ones left?
People get mad when we play world police and then get mad when we do nothing or not enough. No matter what thr US does someone somewhere is gonna be a hater.
People get mad when the US involves itself in foreign affairs for its own benefit and fucks things up further.Sure they do. I always hear people say why doesnt America nation build in Africa? Because they dont have oil.
No one worth listening to gets mad over the US not involving itself in a conflict it has nothing to do with.
Dominican Republic hates Haiti since they got invaded by Haiti long time ago. That's putting it lightly, we were under Haitian rule for 22 years. We celebrate our independence from them lol. That being said, our history is not that simple, I guess things never are these days.

Ok, never knew that. I understand why you wouldnt like Hati, or Hatians. But, if the whole country descends into chaos and anarchy, and millions of people start rushing the border, how will yall stop it?I personally have no issue with them, I had Haitian classmates both in high school and university so my parents anti-Haitian sentiment didn't shape the way I view life, but I can't say the same for other Dominicans.
