I mean, if you buy stocks at 80% off and then sell them for their real worth, isn't this an infinite money glitch?

Due to the caveat, youd need to be on the trading floors to make the transactions. Clicking sell on your self directed account means that the brokerage firm is still doing all the work. You could buy the stocks traditionally, but selling them would require more effort.

TC: you must consider the ramifications of the coupon on other people

CE: who cares about other people?
and/or this gives me the power to hurt people who deserve it

I just think it's funny how CE criticizes the super wealthy for getting there by exploiting people, but when offered the hypothetical chance to set themselves for life guilt-free or potentially become super wealthy by exploiting people we're like "ooh yeah, that sounds nice".

Well, yeah, I mean theres never been any doubt in my mind that like 95% of the people here who are all eat the rich! would never part with a single cent if they were the billionaires LOL
I'll trade with anyone that has a jacuuuuzziiiii
Discount, imagine da car I could afford, da house I could buy.

Im not a billionaire (in USD, anyway) and I part with plenty to help other people.
The 80% off would just be too much fun to pass on.

You could buy $100,000 worth of medicine for $20,000 and sell to a children's hospital for $50,000. You make a huge profit and you still come off looking like a hero

I dont like the implications of the 80% discount. It would essentially be using mind control to steal from people. Id live extremely comfortably with the four million.
The 80% coupon is valid even after the climate crisis turns the world into Max Max so it's the obvious choice

I'd take the coupon if I could guarantee I'd be buying off the Black rock company and not a real human being.

Of course, I could always just buy it with the discount and transfer the rest of the money to whomever I buy it from, assuming it's not a shady ass corporation.

80% discount would pay for itself after like 8 years >_> But I could invest 4 million now too and hopefully make 10% off that

idk man. Tough choice

So would anyone complain if I used the 80% discount like this?

I buy every single house I can get my hands on that has either been foreclosed or abandoned.

I refuse to use the coupon on the labor and materials necessary to fix the house.

I sell the house at market value, and take the money to do it again. If anything, all Im doing is increasing the total number of homes available in a given area and making them affordable to people who could actually use them.

I know it will have a negative effect on the cost of housing, but I have to wonder if the positive effect of having more homeowners and fewer foreclosed properties would mitigate that to some degree. And like I said, my contractors and supply chain people get paid without the use of the coupon, so they make their money.

And I wouldnt use the coupon for personal use. I imagine Id be pretty rich anyway, and wouldnt need it.

The coupon automatically works on everything. Once you pick it, you can't choose not to use it.

With inflation being how it is, who's to say $4 million will even be a lot of money in two years?

There would be no point in not taking the ticket if you could just use it however you wanted. It has to have some drawbacks.

It is both a blessing and a curse.

4 million for me. Instant retirement vs having to do extra work for the discount to be more. Either way life would be good though.

80% off anything means I can buy 5x as many lottery tickets for the same money, and it throws off the expected return math wildly into my favor.

Yes it does. No, You will not get arrested or in any kind of trouble.

However, you should keep in mind that real money is being lost on everything that you're buying for 80% off. For instance, buying a house for 80% off could easily bankrupt someone who's not so well off. The stock market will also feel that 80% off to some effect depending on how active you are with that.
Oh... Nah I'll just take the money then. That 80% off sounds like I'd ruin some lives if I wasn't extremely careful about what I bought.

I am almost 40 and have no kids, give me the $4M, I am to lazy to deal with making money with the 80% off thing, not to mention I do not have enough starting money to not have to rip off regular people to start off with.
80% discount.

To start out
I'll buy those hifiman susvaras for $1200 (new) or $900 (if used) and resell for around 3 grand. Those things sell used for like $4500 so id have cheapest available.

And it the headphone many ppl (in niche online forums) say is the best option under 50 grand so I'd have many buyers prob

Even at 80% off, buying a $100,000 car would take some saving.

Can I make anonymous donations for the amount I stole later on?
