Is this proof that marijuana is "dangerous"?

20 y/o Logan Brooke Turner from Michigan was high on MARIJUANA when she hit and killed a motorcyclist in September!!

It happened before 8pm when Logan was crossing to oncoming traffic to turn into a business and 21 y/o Blair Reubin Beck was riding southbound when Logan pulled across the street from the northbound lane and hit him.

Blair died in hospital as Logan's blood tested positive for marijuana.

Logan was hit with one count of operating while intoxicated causing death. OWI is a felony that carries a 15 YEAR SENTENCE!!

Blair was a 2014 graduate of Grande Ledge High School and worked at Grand Pointe Marina Dimondale. His friends say he was a talented mechanic who enjoyed motorcycles, cars, video games, hunting and fishing.

Now Conservatives are pouncing against the legalization of marijuana as they are using this accident as proof that weed is dangerous and shoulud not be legalized.

Is this proof that weed is "dangerous" and should not be legalized?.

This proves weed is dangerous and should be banned... now lets go to our metrics, ... ... yup, looks like alcohol is more dangerous and should be 400x banned! Also, distracted driving from tobacco use should be 8x as banned!

There is literally no argument you can make against marijuana based on this one incident that wouldn't apply a million times as much to alcohol.

Legalize marijuana or ban alcohol again. I'd prefer the latter, but the former is more practical.
but alcohol and guns are fine
Rudy sucks
Wait, she hit him? That sounds like an accident that would 95% of the time be the person going straight hitting the person who's turning in front of them (still usually the turning car's fault). You have to be pretty out there to hit the person going straight.

Anyway, it proves more that motorcycles are dangerous. As described, that accident sounds unlikely to have killed him if he were driving a car instead. I suppose motorcycles should be banned too... oh wait, silly me, forgot this wasn't really about safety.
Who's your favorite character from "Bend It Like Beckham"? And you can't say Beckham.
It can be, under the right circumstances, like almost anything (even guns - gasp! ).

I was given a prescription for joint pain (heh) before being diagnosed with a bipolar 1 disorder and it turned me psychotic for a (thankfully) brief period of time. When it wore off, I flushed what was left down the toilet and vowed "never again."

When I read "killed a man," it really wasn't what I had envisioned. Also, who names their daughter Logan?

Tobacco use doesn't impair the senses.

While banning is impractical, we could heavily regulate alcohol so this doesn't happen.

Hence he specified distracted driving, rather than impaired.

Your blood can test positive for marijuana and you can be sober.
Don't we have the roadside saliva test now? I don't think it's 100% definitive, but a positive test on that should be enough to bring them into a station for bloodwork.

Basically not at all different from how we handle breathalyzers and alcohol now.

It would be practical, if not for the fact that alcohol is a powerful lobby in D.C. now.
Still not sure it'd help, though. People were willing to all break the law when it was outright illegal just so they could get drunk. I'm not sure some regulations are going to stop anyone, either.
Kind of obvious, there needs to be a few billion dollars spent to educate the masses that driving while high on weed is a bad idea. Or any other substance that gets you high really

Alcohol and human culture have been tied together for too many millennia. A ban would never have a hope of doing anything unless you threaten people with lengthy prison sentences for possession

That didn't work with prohibition or any of the war on drugs.

Yeah but it was easier to get away with stuff back before you had cameras everywhere and police on every corner. It's a different time now
