You'd think Kyle was picking off protesters for sport the way the media spun it. It's really unfortunate and unfair that the other 2 people killed genuinely thought they were stopping a mass shooter, but they weren't.
Well, the third guy wasn't killed, but he did kind of put a monkey wrench in the whole "good guy with a gun" nonsense the NRA likes to say. He had the active shooter in his sights, but couldn't find it within himself to pull the trigger.
Fair play. I'll never disparage someone for being unable to take a life. That should be an extremely difficult thing to do. The timing was absolutely fucking rotten though. He found that out about himself just after announcing himself as a threat to the shooter who had already demonstrated that he was willing to take lives.
