Is that what you were referring to when you mentioned armed robberies?
Increased police presence coupled with prosecution of criminals whove been caught does, in fact, lower crime.
NYCs drop in crime from the 80s/90s largely corresponded with an increase in police. Deterrence is a real thing, and people are less likely to commit crimes in areas where theyre more likely to be caught (I.e. where there are more police).
or would the cops have done stuff such as sitting on their ass with a radar gun seeing who passed by 2 miles over the limits, pulling over a bunch of black people, harassing random minorities because they fit the description of someone else and stuff like that @patchwork ?

Do you want to have a real conversation about policing in your community, and what could be done to make it safer, or do you just want to parrot horseshit baseless takes that you cant back up with any semblance of data?
