We weren't even supposed to be here. The Jays were predicted to be the worst or second worst in the AL East at the start of the season. We started the season poorly. We were 74/88 last season. Everyone counted us out. Even when we won the AL East, we were supposed to lose to the Yankees. We were out of our element, we were "lucky", everything. We've proved the pundits wrong. We are the best team in the American League, a couple calls away from winning the World Series. George Springer injured, Bo Bichette basically playing on one leg, we took the evil empire to the limit and made them look silly time after time. I am sincerely so proud to be a fan of these Jays. This is a special team and this won't be the only time they will have a shot in the playoffs. --- Lindsay - Jan 13, 1990 - July 17, 2023 Thank you for fighting the fight for so long for me. ... A lot of things went right for the Blue Jays this season which is why I don't know if they can return. Boston & New York will do their normal arms race, the Orioles will be healthy, Toronto has some pretty serious gaps in their rotation, and it was a statistical miracle season for Kirk & Springer. Good on them if they can build off of this, but when "we weren't supposed be here" becomes "we now belong here" and to get kicked in-between the seams when you do believe, can leave a mark. --- https://media.giphy.com/media/a3IWyhkEC0p32/giphy.gif ... [LFAQs-redacted-quote] I would guess that he'll sign somewhere between $150m and $200m over 6-8 years. If they're serious about trying to run it back, hey absolutely have to find a way to keep him because I doubt that they have a middle IF with his production just hanging on the farm somewhere in New England. The Blue Jays were incredible and I truly thought they were going to beat the Dodgers today. I was ready to turn the game off, because I was so sure they were dust. My last post was going to be "it's going to take a miracle for them to come back from this." Then Max went off, then Miguel went off, then Will went off. The Blue Jays did a lot and got so close, but it just wasn't enough. I do wonder how the ABS system will change the game going forward, because there were so many missed balls/strikes calls that changed the trajectory of the game. --- "High Power, Hyper. problem is the jays this year had a lot of career years, there is no shot in hell George Springer repeats what he did this year at his age. they got production out of guys like Davis Schneider and career minor leaguers like Nathan Lukes this was the jays shot tbh. especially with Yesavage pitching as great as he had, and him pitching so little at the major league level beforehand was actually an advantage for the jays since it meant teams had less looks and video of him. he'll still be good and they'll have him for all next year at least, but it's hard to imagine everything breaking right for them like it did this year, especially in the AL East --- https://i.imgur.com/hLHUnOI.jpg You act like I don't know my own way home ...
