Earplugs make my ears sweat or feel weird... I prefer noise cancellation headphones.

I don't go to live events. Too much going on and super noisy. Sad, cause I was forced to go to 'em as a kid and hated 'em due to I got overstimulation.

I am usually fine at open air concerts, but in smaller concert halls I usually wear them. Last time I didn't I was completely def for about an hour after I left the concert.

Why do earplugs have to look like candy?

Because it's better than having candy that looks like earplugs.

Last time I didn't I was completely def for about an hour after I left the concert.

Back in college I went to a concert where I was about six rows back from the stage, and directly in front of one of the giant speakers. I spent the next 2-3 days hearing everything muffled like I was underwater.

The weird thing is, it's like I became so deaf I developed superpowers - I could barely hear my professor teaching the class I was in, but I swear I could hear furniture moving two rooms away through the walls.

No, but that's because I don't go to events loud enough need them

I wonder if wearing earplugs to a concert would even hurt your experience. You can definitely still hear the music, I guess the bass sounds just become more important than normal

If you we just want to hear the songs normally listen to the album. Or even a live album.

It doesn't, it just dampens the "harsh" noises that hurt your ears. You still hear everything perfectly.

You can even get special "concert" ones that are supposed to lower the volume in your ear without reducing sound quality, but I am pretty sure that is just a placebo.

Wrong. Wearing earplugs actually allows you to hear MUCH better at a concert. It cuts out a lot of the mids and ambient noise.

No, I never have.

And now I have tinnitus and permanent hearing loss because of it.
I always knew I'd pay the price, and I will pay it for the rest of my life. Protect your ears, kids.

I have often worn earplugs to the movies. Most movies are so incredibly loud these days. The earplugs reduce the volume to normal.

It's really weird when the movie is over and I step outside and can't hear anything. "Oh yeah, earplugs"

I have an uncle who spent many years at Pink Floyd concerts and he is pretty much 60yrs old and deaf. I value my ears and love hearing things, so I protect them.
