The fainting game stuff isn't just debased, it's absolutely beyond the pale stupid. Meanwhile Gen Z was doing the Benadryl challenge because of 4chan drug board memes leaking into Tiktok about "The Hat Man". So since they thought the concept of a "Hat Man" and "Sleep Paralysis demons" was funny they started abusing a major Deliriant, diphenhydramine, so they could understand it. There are teens/adults going to NA clinics because they are recreationally using Benadryl.

There's a whole subreddit about people who use Benadryl.

People abusing Benadryl isnt a gen z trend dawg lmao. The hat man became a meme because Benadryl is a deliriant and overdosing on it will make you see shit. This isnt a new revelation.

Thats like saying people getting high off cough syrup is a gen z trend because it has a subreddit. Its not a new thing, the internet just made it so that these people can congregate in one place and be more visible.

Companies put bitterant into duster now because people have been huffing since it came into existence

Like a lot of the shit put onto specific generations didnt even start with that generation.

I'd never heard of anyone abusing Benadryl until 2020 and I'd never heard of people dying from overdosing on it in their teens until after 2020.

My middle school once had an assembly to tell everyone to quit playing the Knockout Game, where someone would stand against a wall and someone else would push against their chest until the first kid passed out.

A kid a year younger than me died of an aneurysm or something similar, may or may not have been involved.

So, like, yeah, kids did dumb shit before the Mayan calendar expired, too.

So because you became aware of it in 2020 means it didnt happen before? The news zeroing in on it made it more visible, that does not mean it started in 2020.

Theres a certain website I probably cant name here that is just full of peoples trip reports. There are Benadryl reports ranging from at least 2007.

You becoming aware of something does not mean it wasnt done before that.
