Three megas is fine, you get to evolve a couple of times in a match. Even if you come fourth, youll almost always get points. Lots of starter Pokemon and Garchomps though right now, so I guess counters for those would be useful. The moves you want to focus on are things that can hit multiple Pokemon at once, quick moves for fast KO sniping, and/or moves that can follow the opponent and thus are not easily dodgeable. Other things like Flip Turn/U-Turn/Volt Switch are great for making a hit and then protecting your Pokemon from counter attacks. Toxic is also a good one because you'll get credit for it if the status lands the KO. Hazard moves like Spikes/Stealth Rock/Whirlpool/Fire Spin also have good utility if you can throw them up where multiple opponents are congregated. Try to avoid moves that have slow animations, since you'll either be a sitting duck or they give other players time to steal your KOs. Got 2nd again my second time (there was a guy who was OP) and am now rank S. Team is Heracross, Starmie, Absol. XIII_Rocks 10/26/25 6:47:41 AM #193:	In that vein - I think it's worth pointing out, and maybe I'm just easily amused, but this is probably the funniest Pokemon game Like some of the sidequests are fully unhinged e.g. that Starmie one or the Litwick one, basically everything Jacinthe does cracks me up (including giving Zygarde a place in the tournament and it having its own picture), even the bit with Floette using Light of Ruin right at the start and the trainers' faces. Also various random NPCs around the city are having mental breakdowns Obviously not all the comedy hits but it works more than it doesn't I'd say. Also: if it ain't broke, don't fix it with ~~Yveltal and Xerneas' theme. Main complaints are that Lumiose City isnt interesting enough to be the main focus of the game and theres some noticeable jankiness and cost cutting, but the story is decent, the characters are great and the combats fun for what it is. So eh. Pokdex is also a little anaemic, but I got burned out completing LAs so Im fine with that. Would have been nice to have more returning characters though. Gamefreak just need to get better fundamentally as a developer. They keep having these ideas for ambitious new mechanics (the wild zone, open world, a game set in a single city) but not the time and resources to actually make it work properly. Its just frustrating to enjoy the game, but constantly be aware about how much better it could have been. And getting extra time is unlikely (gotta churn out that merch) so they have to improve to manage with the time allowed. Im still undecided on the DLC. Because I looked it up too and basically just found "keep resting at a bench until it rains" which takes a lot longer than you would think if your luck is bad. It took me about 15 minutes to force rain once, I found 2 goomy before the rain stopped and now I need to force it for one more. I'm still catching a variety of things to complete the catch 50 X Type and im chipping away at the 1000 battles. My ~~Infinite Royale~~ streak is at 7 so I still have a ways to go before I'm done with the important part of that.
