First line of the unsolved puzzle was interesting today lol

ONLY CONNECT OLIVE BRANCH

There was an NYT Games category on Only Connect a few weeks back, with Connections being a trap. At the end of the round VCM points out the trap and calls the Connections puzzles "weak".

I didn't know chestnut meant that, so I had to guess the last yellow. Wrong guess was gusher. Seeing all the purples was hopeless - I figured it was wordplay with singers, since I saw Elvis, but never heard of Usher or Enya.
