I think it's universally agreed that fight is a great fight. How'd you do it?? I beat them with the speed anklets. I noticed she kept evading me when I ran at her, so my solution was to just...run at her faster.

Just pure focus with my needle. I didnt use tools until her 2nd phase, but mostly just needle.

Attack when she charge up the flying needle attack or healing, otherwise try to evade.

Now i am stuck on shakra

idk on paper her moveset isnt that difficult but she's just so fucking hard to read.

Phantom is another 10/10 fight. Awesome boss, set piece and music.

The unraveled however was kinda ass. His hitbox is annoying af.

Yeah I learned early about that one not to even bother trying to pogo. Just wait for it to pass and slap the butt.

EDIT: Well, I *would* pogo, but not with intent to damage, just to avoid the corpse throw attack since it couldn't look up.

Welp. Looking forward to any DLC they might have in store. Replaying the first game in the meantime.

I feel like I whiff attacks against enemies way less as the Knight, but timing inputs while falling (pogo or dash) is more difficult.

Unraveled is pretty easy to face tank, actually. Wanderer crest attacks are fast enough to generate enough silk to outheal any damage without dodging at all. Druids Eye/s for extra silk from damage and Injector Band for faster heals makes the fight a joke.

Doing some more exploring in Act 3. The wormways are filled with lifeblood now. I found a boss there who I think its constantly healing? I'll come back later with a face tanking build or something to clear it.

I also found the Green Prince, I guess this memory will give me a heart at the end? I was avoiding the places marked by the main quest to do them at the end...

It's mainly just lore.

If you use needolin in the little hut you'll learn that there was once a town full of bugs that got lured underground by the spiders. Depending on how much you want to read into it, you might come to a conclusion that everything that is currently in Pharloom could have been having a better life but the spiders ruined that chance at prosperity by luring everything into their domain and eventually enslaving them. Everything they are currently suffering from could have been avoided if they had never been involved with the spiders.

Bounce >>>juggle > dodge

Bounce is what you've been doing all game, did it second try once I figured out the rules.

Juggle took a while, became easier once I learnt to stay on the ground.

Dodge...palpable anxiety.

Juggle > Dodge > Bounce

Maybe not in order of which I found easiest, but in order of which one caused me the least anxiety.

In order of easiest it would probably be

Bounce > Juggle > Dodge.

I had an easier time with Bounce once I switched to Reaper. It's got a wide arc and that gave me a lot more leeway with some of the things that occasionally would end up being kinda level with me as they've go past. With other crests, you'd probably miss those. Wouldn't recommend any crest that has the diagnal pogo.

Juggle isn't too bad once you get a feel for the what different waves can throw at you- normal, fast, heavy. In order to beat the high score, you never have to deal with more than 3 fleas at a time from a "normal" wave. Wanderer + Longclaw worked best for me.

Dodge... is probably the hardest to get a feel for, although there are some things you can do to try and keep fleas from forcing you outta the zone. When you've only got one platform, I would try going airborne off to the side of it rather than jumping straight up to throw off the trajectory of the ones that point at you and launch. You can also pogo off some of the easier to track fleas to give yourself some float time, which can help pull some fleas away from area-denying the platform.

Tricky games, but still fun. If you're literally just playing them for the sake of enjoyment, you'll probably end up clearing them pretty easily. When I was playing, I knew what the reward was so I was just putting myself under some pressure to get it done.

I spoiler tagged these as this is some late game stuff.

I beat that boss by facetanking
It's one of the ones you don't have to dodge much, just hit so often with accessories to increase silk generation and healing speed that you can heal often enough to last through the fight
Just jump up in the air to heal sometimes, and attempt to jump over spikes but you can still get hit by them several times and win by facetanking

Karmelita might be the point where I say enough is enough. Why is there a 2 minute long gauntlet you have to deal with before you can even take another shot and why TF does she have so much fucking HP that each phase takes like 5 minutes? This is the first time I've really felt like the game doesn't respect my time. This is literally the definitely of artificial difficulty

If the gauntlet is taking you that long and you're phase transitioning her that slowly that's on you. I did her Needle+Grapple only using Reaper and didn't take that long to do either of those, so you're definitely not being aggressive enough, especially if you're using all your moveset like you should be.

My successful attempt took exactly 6 minutes from the moment I regained control of Hornet.

Definitely sped up the gauntlet a bit on my successful attempt but being more aggro vs Karmelita herself is a fool's errand because odds are good she blocks your attack and then punishes you.

What got me past her was saving my tools til I got to a point in phase 2 where I could safely pull out Cogflys and Tacks. Had to play the first phase pretty carefully so I'd have resources to go all out once I started spamming tools. Definitely helped that I got down the timing for pogoing most of her BS

A lot of the time if you grapple into her for a punish even if she blocks you bounce over it and she misses you with the follow up. But yeah, saving your resources for the latter phase(s) is pretty much always what I recommend. Get them near the finish line then blast them and get as close to a phase skip as you can.

Jesus Christ, the entire back end of this game is pure cancer. Nyleth would have been fine without the screen wide pollen nuke. Too many times I'd get nailed by that and forced into the spikes, then immediately respawn into more BS. Full cock up cascade that feels like you have very little control over. Fight was fine other than just having like literally 1 second to try to go from attacking her to needing to be on literally the other edge of the screen.

Meanwhile, took my first stab and Coral Tower and it can go fuck itself. TWO fucking mandatory repeating gauntlets? At least 2 so far. This boss better be a fucking joke because I'm probably gonna riot. I got wrecked in the second gauntlet by the fat armored dude slinging shit out of the ground everywhere.

Also, at this point doing Coral Tower is optional technically. I grabbed the Conjoined Heart from Lost Verdania before even taking a swing at Karmelita, not knowing what was in there. Clover Dancers was fun

Been playing for like 6 hours now and haven't eaten breakfast yet. Time for a break and then back to beating my head against a wall

Anyway, if you don't mind some slight spoilers on that area: There are a total of four arena fights and then the boss. However, after the third you can open a shortcut to bypass those first three in the future, and the fourth is quite simple. Honestly despite bouncing off the first three fights at least ten times, it took me three tries to beat the boss, if that's any indication.

As someone else who was in this hell today:

Git gud for phase 1. Don't use tools. If you can come out of it with full HP and full Silk you're in a good spot. As such the most important thing is consistently *not* taking damage. Not as easy at it sounds but doable once you learn her attacks and learn to not get greedy.

Starting in phase 2, learn how to work in your tools safely. And by tools I mean Tacks and Cogflys. Period. You're not gonna have safe windows to work in aimable tools. Just toss some tacks on the ground (she's very ground based, will eat every tack on the floor very quickly) and summon Cogflys when safely able (you can have up to 4 at once and they auto target for free damage). I personally used Pollip Pouch for poisoned tools for the extra damage but it should be just fine without it if you've done a good job of learning her patterns.

Done correctly, this is enough to deal with her ass. Your tool damage can pretty much deal with her thru phase 2 and 3, adding in needle damage where you can find safe spots to do so.

Additional tips: Reserve Bind and Multi-Bind. You can safely wall jump to the top of the arena and she can't hit you there at all. This means Multi-bind is 4 masks for effectively free and Reserve Bind will give you 4 masks at some point when the shit hits the fan and you're out of Silk.

Focus on learning to dodge her boomerangs. Pretty much all of her attacks do 2 masks of damage (either in one 2 mask hit or in two 1 mask hits without a window to evade) and these are by far the ones you're most likely to get tagged with out of nowhere. They slightly home in.

Magnetic DIce if you've not been using them. One of the few Yellow tools with actual combat effectiveness. Minimum like 5% chance to block damage, caps at around 10% chance to block damage based on how many times you've taken damage since last time it proc'd. This is easily 4+ masks per boss fight, not just for this fight. S++++ tier tool.

Figure out how to pogo off her. Aside from the one attack where she goes airborne and then slams down for a bunch of spikes coming out of the ground she has basically zero aerial game. And she blocks less vs pogo attacks. This can really help you get some damage in during phase 1, or in additional phases if you need just a little more.

I've gotten through 3 phases without most of that stuff but I still usually manage to mess up somewhere in phase four. I probably almost beat her like 4 times.

Well, I beat the game with 100%, though it took me over 60 hours cuz I'm slow as fuck. I didn't even spend that long on any given boss or area, and I rarely ever struggled on platforming. I just had serious issues with backtracking and going out of my way to an area to do one thing and later coming back to do something different again and again, plus many checks for available wishes out of fear of missing something

Hardest boss was definitely the true last boss. I was pretty shocked when I did win though, felt like I was halfway through that phase and then poof, dead. That kind of feeling happened several times to me, just kinda shocked that the fight was already over

Worst thing in the game is still Flea Dodge, that can fuck right off
Next up was contact damage doing 2+, should be just 1 in majority of cases

Still, great game. Enjoyed the ride, not doing steel soul tho, or any pantheon DLC that might come out
