Nice work! Pale Steel Needle is really good.

It'll definitely help on some of the tankier late game fights.

Flea Dodge was the most cancerous, at least when trying to break 95

I still need to get Seth into the Flea area. I cleared the normal records for the Pale Oil.

Made it to Act 3. Took some sweet time to explore the whole of Pharloom but felt I was ready for the final boss in act 2 Mommy Silk. Excited to see the rest of the stuff and how it plays out now

Act 3 boss: Skarrsinger Karmelita.

I've been struggling with this. I keep getting hit by the same attack every single time. This is the first boss that has stonewalled me. I've been taking my time with it last three or four days. Spending about 30 minutes a day. I just have very low patience for this kind of thing.

If it makes you feel any better, she is one of the hardest bosses in the game. She's also optional so you can still make progress without dealing with her shit right now.

Thanks. I decided to keep at it until I got it. Finally did. That final run was almost hitless, too.

That was extremely satisfying after all that struggling.

i got mine at the Far Fields bench actually,

just keep resting at benches.

Also, fuck PoP 2.0 legit sat there for over an hour, I was shaking by the time I was done. Wish there was more on the surface but maybe we get more in the DLC

100% the game (including stuff that doesn't count like Memory Lockets, Mementos, Relics, etc). Lost Lace was a pain teleporting into you and shit and half the time she was blending in with the environment.

So, I found something weird. In the last bench in the Abyss right before the Lace fight you can go to the room above. I played Up+Needolin which is the Bellbeast song typically. After playing for like 3 seconds there was a quaking sound and Hornet briefly looks up, but then nothing else happens. Is that an easter egg? I usually don't play that song because it doesn't seem to have much utilization, for all I know that happens anywhere in the game, just checking to be sure I didn't stumble upon something.

I think I may have worded that a bit confusingly.

They are in the areas surrounding Greymoor, not Greymoor itself. Basically any area that borders on Greymoor or is geographically kinda close to Greymoor, the resting benches are likely to have the Craw Summons.

Apologies for the confusing directions.

Just constant challenges. There is no chill. I play Soulslikes all the time and you get a nice exploration reprieve after a boss. Hollow Knight was the same. With Silksong, it just never ends. You can't go 5 minutes without a big fuck you, deal with this now.

I am getting past everything but it just isn't fun.

Hmmm, I see. I know that a lot of challenges don't have a "reward" necessarily so the fact that you did the thing is kinda the accomplishment rather than getting a boss-ass item, but that happens in Soulslike games too.

The first areas are a bit of a skill check "Git Good" feeling but it really opens up and gives you different ways to play if you want.

i just jumped back in after not playing for a week or two (bc i got bored due to lack of incentivizing rewards for exploration, as well as lack of fun bosses, plus getting lost)

i saw i was up to the lava beastfly. i think last time i tried it once and gave up. i beat him after a few tries, didnt enjoy it, didnt feel accomplished for winning. reminded me why i stopped. i think this is one im gonna put down for good, since i dont continue when im not having fun. which sucks bc my husband bought it for me as a surprise (he knew it was a longshot tho)

31 hours on the game

also you dont get anything for killing bosses. even though i have access to easy soul farm, the economy still feels fucked and mismanaged. i understand it's bc lore but im not interested in HK lore so it doesnt hit me

I believe I'm at the final boss.

I am sad that it is coming to an end. T_T

Yeah, the lack of rewards and just bad QOL is bugging me a lot

I received the true ending plus the Mr. Mushroom TO BE CONTINUED secret scene.

Thankfully I did not get the true ending spoiled for me at all. That was amazing.

Congrats! Glad you enjoyed it. Great game, would be by number #1 this year if not for Clair Obscur

Ran into the Lost Verdania. I'm reminded of the dream nail elements of the first game. Cool little area. But now I have an extra heart (four total). I'm wondering if there's more to find. I guess I could scale the whole map. There's those black masses littered across the map I could clear out, anyway. One incentive to do a once over of the map.

Still have a ton of materium missing. Unsure I'm coming across what's left naturally. If I'm aiming for 100%, I think I might have to start looking at a guide, eventually.

Oof, how far are you? That was one of the first discoveries I made in the game and probably one of the most OP things Hornet does over Hollow Knight.

Yeah my go-to for healing was to heal mid-air, even on the final boss

I keep the fireneedle item on because it has a similar midair pause effect.

Okay, I just beat Sister Splinter and am feeling better about the game

This game really upfronts the difficulty imo
Lots of trial by fire, especially Hunter's March

If you can pass that though you can definitely pass any trial in the game, there are ones that are 'harder' but you'll be much more used to the controls and play style by then

Yeah, the start of the game is definitely more frustrating. I think after you get the wall climb, a couple crests, and the float, it gets significantly less "difficult."

I'm only in Act 2 but I disagree with that. Maybe I have a different playstyle from people but the game has only been getting harder for a while now.

Oh, the game definitely gets harder, but I think it's more manageable when you get more tools.

Like Bilewater sucks ass, but I think I was still way more frustrated with Hunter's March and Sinner's Road because I didn't have the double jump and all that stuff.

Tbf, I've played like two Castlevanias.

And I don't actually remember if there's a double jump in one of them.

So that's still fine.

I'm old enough to remember Castlevania had one jump. And you commit to the direction. And if you fall to your death, you die. There is no getting out of it.

I'm in the same boat. I don't know how my friends cleared this game in under a week.

I still have things to do in this game, I just took a break after beating the final (for real this time) boss.

Still got some optional challenges that I'm looking forward to finishing up.

All I have left to do are defeat Lost Lace and break Seths records in Flea Juggling and Flea Dodging. I stopped at the start of the month for annual playthroughs of Infernax. Never got back to playing Silksong.

Close to end of Act 3: Did the everbloom dream sequence. That made me sad. I guess I am now at the point where it is do or die. I am trying to 100% the game, though. I don't want to look up a guide, but I feel like I'm wandering aimlessly for what little I have left to acquire. Some of which, I am guessing, I should have come across as soon as early Act 2.

I wouldn't recommend this, you're gonna spend a lot of hours exploring with no yields if you were pretty thorough. I think 10-20 hours of my 65 hours in the game were spent just double checking places and trying everything to see if there was a secret. It's a bit obnoxious when you're at 95% and you just have no clue where the things are. Maybe aim for hints, I'd recommend.

were the best fights in the game to me. You will have at this point fought 2-4 out of those 9 at this point.
