Costco appears to have removed its Xbox section from its US and UK websites. Furthermore, there are no results when you search for Xbox products and games, suggesting that all Xbox stock has been pulled from Costco's online offerings. The site still has dedicated sections for Nintendo and Sony, with the Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 available to purchase online, alongside their games.

This development was noted by ResetEra user kubev today, who noticed that they couldn't find Xbox products on the Costco website. Others then noted that the entire Xbox section had been pulled, with Xbox no longer listed in the Video Game & Consoles category. This category still lists VR, PlayStation, and Nintendo. Others in the thread noted that some customers on Reddit had spotted the lack of Xbox products at Costco last month, so the company certainly made the move quietly.

However, this appears to still be a recent development, at least when we went to check this on the UK Costco website. Here, the preview on Google still says, "Shop our latest collection of Xbox at Costco.co.uk," but when you open the site, there is no Xbox section, nor any Xbox products. At the bottom of the page, Xbox is mentioned again, alongside Nintendo and Sony, but there are still no products to be found. We don't know why Costco isn't carrying any Xbox products right now, but there is a chance that this is in relation to Microsoft's poor performance during this console generation. Its attempt to go head-to-head with Sony on the game exclusivity front didn't work, with Xbox now porting many of its games to PS5. There has been speculation that Xbox will pull out of the console business altogether, much like Sega did after the Dreamcast, but Microsoft has denied this, and plans for the next generation of Xbox are in place.

Completely agree. I enjoy the play experience, but damn M$. You make it so hard to defend a single thing you do.

LOL. looks like they never recovered from the Xboner fiasco. So glad I never bought any of their shitty consoles, they are the worst thing to happen to gaming.

It's incredible how bad the marketing of the current Xbox gen is. I remember one day realizing that I had no idea what Xbox is doing now and I had to look up what the current consoles are, and then it took awhile for me to memorize them and know which is which. The sad part is I want a Series X more than a PS5, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay the increased prices for it.

Massive hot take but if they released the Xbox One as it was originally intended just 2-3 years before its actual launch it would have been a success.

All the "TV TV TV" bullshit would have been a legitimate selling point if they released the console in just the right window of time when cable was still somewhat relevant and people were making the jump to streaming apps.

If you know what's good for you, you'd skip both and get a Switch 2. Maybe the xenoblade games will get a patch someday. Maybe..

Absolutely not, I say this as someone who dislikes Xbox & a lot of MS decisions. A stores management would be stupid to make such a drastic decision just because Xbox is selling less than the competition, it's not doing as well as them for sure but it's not doing shelf clearing bad numbers.

literally if they just launched the Xbox One without Kinect for $400 (same as the PS4, and the first Kinect-less Xbone ended up being) they would've been fine in the long run I think

they really let Kinect get to their head

I think what they're going for is the luxury car angle. Like how Mercedes-Benz has their C Class, E Class, G Class, S Class, or BMW has its 1 Series, 2 Series, 3 Series, etc.

It's not a bad idea to try to mimic luxury marketing. PS3 sort did the same thing with the piano black finish and the strings on the home screen. But Xbox, as always, took this in the direction of naming their stuff in the worst way possible.

From what I've heard, Costco is just being weird about adjusting prices for the console. We should expect them to go back up...
