Villain_S_Fiend 09/19/25 5:35:20 PM #2:	It's a turn-off for me, too. I was always one of those "they're just poseur corporate punk" cynics with them, anyway. I know a lot of punk singers have put on vocal styles, but Billie's always struck me as too practiced and slick, as opposed to a lot of others who put on voices meant to sound like attitudinal nails on a chalkboard to people who didn't "get it", or whatever. Except Minutemen. Because they are wonderful, genius, and pure. --- The food here is terrible. I read an article once explaining that pop-punk vocals go in cycles where the singers keep rebelling against whatever the "usual" way of singing is, at the time. It's the same reason for the weird Blink-182 accent. It's the same reason why the Sex Pistols "rebelled" by singing with a British accent when most other British bands were singing with an American accent.
