This will be my second playthrough of the game. Female Alear. Hard/Classic, randomized level ups. I also have all the dlc which I did not have for my initial playthrough so Im excited to check out the dlc emblems. Is there a recommended time to do the dlc?

DLC scales with level so earlier is better to get the rings for more battles

I just want my boy Hector. FE7 is my favorite game in the series

For the DLC Emblems, my rule of thumb was to get them as soon as I got the main story ring that had a connection to them.

Just for the extra dialogue.

DLC scales so it's better to do them early.

Some will be difficult regardless tho

And they will make you overpowered.

I only got about half way through, just didnt enjoy the characters or even the gameplay, which is a shame as im a huge fe fan. I think the plot has some potential but falls off hard. Like how they wash over the fact that the top left country has been invading and waging war on both its neighbours for decades. But then you get there and theyre like no were totally the good guys now and its never bought up again

Yeah the story is meh, but the gameplay is really good imo. I think the Emblems add an extra layer of strategy and the break system is cool too

Finished Tikis paralogue before bed last night. Snagged the silver card. Which dlc paralogue should I do next? Do they vary in difficulty or are they all kinda the same?

It's recommended that you have gotten as far as chapter 10 in the main story before tackling the rest of these due to number of enemies

as a reminder they level scale to Alear's level rather than the overall level of the army so if your Alear is a good deal stronger than most of your army you are gonna have a really bad time, especially if you're still at the point you're relying on Vander and Alfred both of them fall off pretty damn hard after the first 5 chapters, Vander holds the title for the worst jegan in the franchise, which is wild because I don't even know who jegan is and I know that's bad

Got Soren last night. Started Veronicas chapter and got about halfway through before bed. Will finish it up after work

Jagen is a character from the first Fire Emblem and his role is similar to Vander. He starts off stronger but he is there to soften up opponents and take out some of the early game bosses.

The only dlc emblem I have left to get is Camilla. Veronica is OP. Built in dancer ability and she can summon fodder to distract enemies. Sorens Cataclysm ability is pretty insane too

I personally would have preferred Titania over Soren, but Soren is cool too. Once I get Camilla Im going to finish Chapter 9 and then do the Fell Xenologues. Ive read its recommended to do them after chapter 9

I finished Chrom and Robins chapter before bed but I havent tried them out. Looking at their abilities it looks like they would be good paired up with a mage knight?

Nonsense. Vander is up there with FE6!Marcus as the ideal Jagen. Critically important in the early game but eventually his like of growth causes him to fall off and give your other units you've been developing to shine.

That is much better design than, most Jegans who start off as your strongest unit and stay your strongest unit for most, if not all, of the game.

But yeah the DLC Emblems break the game in half. Not only do they largely remove the bite from the mid-game twist, they cause your army to be wildly overleveled. I really wish there was an option to have the paralogues not give experience, because the Emblems are fun to use.

Yes, he is. If going by actually importance, his slot probably should have went to someone like Elincia, but Soren is quite a bit more popular. Camilla's slot should probably gone to Azura as well.

Made it to the final chapter of the Fell Xenologue before bed last night. I really dont like it. Just want it to be over so I can get the new units/classes and be done

It's really not great and it can be considerably less not great if you don't have promoted units, inherited skills or bond rank.

The good news is that the difficulty is seperate from your game difficulty and if you want you can just set it to easy difficulty and you can almost win just by smashing auto-battle.

Finished the dlc. So are there any recommendations for the enchanter and mage cannoner classes? Im seeing a lot of posts saying Amber is a solid pick since his personal skill gives +20 hit if no allies are nearby

Honestly, I don't think the Mage Cannoner class is particularly good. But your ideally want someone with good Dex because that is what damage scales off. Hit is a combo of strength, build, dex and luck. So honestly Boucheron isn't a bad choice as he had pretty fat Dex and Build growths. And he kinda sucks as a unit anyway so it isn't like there is a lot of opportunity cost to making him one compared to a good unit.

Enchanter best abilities are stat agnostic so anyone can work but if you want to use them to fight they punch and use knives so someone like Framme or Yunaka will work.

Best girl Timerra has joined. I chose her as my special support partner or whatever in my last playthrough. Whatever this games equivalent of the S supports it

I had a Mage Cannoneer Bunet that I actually kind of liked. He was pretty much used as a debuffer with the Corrin ring (with Divine Pulse+ inherited from Byleth to fix hit issues) being able to Draconic Hex enemies from afar and using the poison cannonballs to put max stacks of poison on key targets. Didnt get much use out of the Corrin Engage attack, but long range freezes came in very handy as well. And because DP+ gave him reliable hit chance even from max range + putting poison on enemies, he did a good job setting up kills for other characters. Of course Bunet himself didnt provide anything special, so you can use whoever to accomplish the same thing, but I wanted to use Bunet for one playthrough and that set up allowed him to actually be useful instead of him being a weak combat unit.

Also meant to comment on FX but forgot. But yeah, the way you felt about it is how most people (including myself) feel about it. Ever since the 1st time I went through it, now I either just set it to the easiest difficulty and let it auto battle most of the chapters if I want to use anything that comes from it, or I just skip it altogether.

Although best girl is Etie, of course.

Speaking of Etie I class changed her to an axe fighter and then warrior and she is a monster. She has a maxed out bond level with the 3 houses bracelet which gives STR/DEX +5 on top of her already insane strength stat. She one hit kills most enemies

In fairness the dlc stuff is broken as hell
