Fun game, although it's not the type of fighting game I will ever be good at

Honestly the only thing keeping this from a 10 for me is the lack of any sort of engaging single player experience. I love this game though-- it's the reason I went to EVO back in 2013 and indirectly why I went again this past year. Just really fun gameplay with ingenious interpretations of so many characters. Never thought I'd see Dante in a fighting game and feel like it actually does him justice but it totally does. And Phoenix Wright is probably even more impressive in that regard, but the whole cast and overall gameplay is just incredible.

I have a couple issues with the roster, lacking single player and the online experience (it is much easier to play MvC2 with decent online, both officially and unofficially, which contributes to me giving it the slight nod over this one), but it's just so damn fun. Every character feels radically different and for the most part they're all extremely fun. The team gameplay feels even more elaborate than MvC2's - there is god damn infinite amount of things to just try and have fun with here. Also I can't believe I forgot to mention the presentation is top notch.

I can't rate the whole game off this obviously but, I have to mention it is one of the greatest games ever to watch people play. It was the highlight of every tournament it was at for years.

Great game for audiovisual aesthetic, controls, gameplay, and music.

Minus points for deep roster cuts and godawful balancing issues.

10 best fighting game ever made

in terms of vibes and roster it's a 10, but due to balance issues and otg's it's an 8

I am going to rate it higher than what I feel like objectively it should be

it's just so fun and came out when I was meeting up with the fgc squad at my college. extended combos are my weakest point in fighting games, and I was pretty bad at the game, but it's maybe one of the most fun spectacles to watch... as long as it's not zero and vergil loops
