Just watched Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms.

I just...holy crap. Everything about this was just intense. I definitely had some tear-jerking moments, because some of the things hit home for me personally (shows about living and dying always do). The interactions between Maquia and Ariel were both fun and sad. Whoever made this put a lot of heart into this, and it'll probably go down as one of the favorite things I've ever watched.

I have a bunch of the manga...should actually read it some time. It's not complete though. But catching up will probably motivate me to buy the rest! (I'm assuming it's not all out in English print yet though)

I'm still struggling just to keep up with airing anime due to working extra shifts/helping family with things.

Still, one of the standout shows of the season so far is Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family. It's a goofy comedy that manages to make me laugh out loud several times each episode.

CSM Season 1 was pretty much as good as that material was going to get. Early CSM isn't that great. Part 1 gets progressively better as it goes along.

CSM S1 adaptation was good enough to get me interested in the manga and seeing what drugs Fujimoto cooks up every other week or so. So it did its job.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's bad or anything. Just that the writing wasn't fully 'there' yet. Reze Movie is what happens when the writing starts to improve and the animation stays extremely good. Almost want them to do a movie for the next parts as well, but that probably works better in anime episode format.
