Its a ~2.6 mile round trip to work and back home. I make that trip 3 times a day or more, depending on what I got going on.

So on any given normal day, 8 miles a day

When I used to commute in to work, it was about 60 miles total when you factor in dropping off/picking up the kids and the drive out to work and back, and if I went out of the office for lunch.

Nowadays, the kids' schools are local, so its less than 5 miles of driving to drop them off and come back home to work here.

Disregarding the stress of driving in itself, its really nice to have that ~hour and a half back every day.

About 9 total. Love it. Closest I've ever lived to where I worked.

Though I was less than 1 mile from campus in college. That was nice AF. I walked every day.

I live 11 miles from the office but sometimes I have to go to our main testing site like today (60 miles away) or our HQ (80 miles away)

It feels like a hassle mentally the night before and right before the commute, but once I'm on the road it actually flies by unless there's traffic

Im 10.0 miles from driveway to parking lot at work. So I have a 20 mile round trip. 95% of it is highway driving just past all the cornfields and cow pastures to get to the city my university is in. Its a 15 minute trip each way. Not bad at all for farm country in the Midwest.

I voted "less than 5 miles". I live a walkable distance from my job, and I used to walk there every work day. I stopped because something dangerous happened on the street, and it wasn't worth risking my life just to save on gas.

14 - 7 miles there and 7 miles back

25 to 30 minutes drive as I live in a built up area and traffic is moderate to heavy.

I tend to monitor my commutes by time rather than distance.

I genuinely can't comprehend commutes that are regularly more than 30 minutes each way by car. That feels like time that is being thrown away and you don't get back.

I did take a train to uni years ago and to the first teacher job I had. The travel times we longer but I can multi-task with a train. Reading, quick paperwork, eat breakfast, take a nap.

I'm on a hybrid schedule but when I have to go in the office (Wed and Thurs every other week) it's about 40 miles one way. I have to get up at 5am those days so I can be in the office by about 6:45 - 7:00 AM in order to be there the "mandatory" 8 hours and leave the office by 3:00 PM. In the morning it takes me about 40-45 minutes to get there, going home it takes me 60-90 minutes (yes even leaving at 3:00 apparently is still rush hour). The hybrid schedule is really the only reason I haven't left the company for something closer because WFH showed me just how awful and stressful the commute is (I did hate it before COVID too but I didn't really have the frame of comparison).

I'm in the Army, I live in barracks.

One trip for first formation/PT, back for breakfast, one trip for morning work, back for lunch, one trip for afternoon work, then released for the day.

This is technically the furthest I've lived from my company. Some places I've lived right across the street from my place of work. Where I'm at now the company and motorpool isn't quite close to the barracks.
