Try to recruit every character you encounter and don't simply kill them off no matter what they did. Do every optional battle or quest as soon as it's open. This is how you get some characters. Try to focus on building at least 3 powerful units, the rest can be canon fodder. Unlock the number of soldiers per unit you can have as soon as possible. Remember to focus on your main units first. Don't waste your points on opening more units throughout the entire game. You don't need more than what the game provides. Just focus on 3 OP units. When the Valkyrie unit joins, keep them together exactly as positioned and just fill in with some of your best soldiers. This unit becomes pretty OP. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Touch posted... Josef is a trap huh? Lv20 dude in the beginning shredding everyone but I'm guessing that him stealing exp (since he can't currently level any more) might be detrimental? No, absolutely use him. EXP isn't divided among party members so there's no meaningful downside to using him. He'll start to fall off once you leave Cornia, at which point you start picking up busted story recruits like (really really minor spoilers, just playing it safe) Also he can do support things in a pinch since he has a single-character shield and heal, but he's not the best at that. --- Time is a funny thing, you know? Touch posted... Didn't realize it's an autobattler but with uh...RTA? Overworld? Is that what it is? I don't know fuck lolReal time strategy with pause is how I'd phrase the map side of things? TMOG posted... I downloaded the demo because it looked interesting, but didn't like that it's an autobattler. I wanted something with more control over my party. You actually have a ton of control over your party, it's just not in the middle of combat. It might not have needed it in the demo but you have a surprising amount of nearly granular control in the AI scripts for your unit actions. Touch posted... Josef is a trap huh? Lv20 dude in the beginning shredding everyone but I'm guessing that him stealing exp (since he can't currently level any more) might be detrimental? What Raxis said. He takes barely any exp away from others and he can put in a lot of work babysitting other units that might be struggling to get them exp in battle. Other tips... I would say to start looking at specific targeting controls once you start to pick up ranged units. Since they can target anyone, it can become very helpful to pick and choose their targets based on criteria. Like the Archer can be told to target lowest defense or lowest HP% and pick off a squishy back liner or someone almost dead. While the game is pretty easy as others have said, if you want the extra oomph, the custom units from barracks are actually a little stronger due to being able to customize their stat growths and you will need a fair chunk of them if you want to put a guard in every town. That said, you will lose out on the rapport conversations which is a big loss to anyone into the characters (they still build rapport and get combat bonuses though, just no conversations). There's also an item called Idealist's Handmirror that will let you customize your unit's stat growths as if they were a barracks unit. But they're pretty rare. When you find the ... In general, I would use Lowest HP as a catch all targeting condition on attacks if you don't have more specific needs. Left to their own devices, units in this game tend to unnecessarily miss kills by not focusing on wounded enemies. Also, you can place multiple iterations of the same attack. For instance on your archers you can go: 1: Single Shot Scout 2: Single Shot This will cause your archers to first scan for Scouts and focus them first, then check for regular enemies. --- Time is a funny thing, you know? Touch posted... Didn't realize it's an autobattler but with uh...RTA? Overworld? Is that what it is? I don't know fuck lolI wouldn't say it's an autobattler since you generally know the turn order of everyone in the fight AND how they will attack before hand. It's pretty easy to just look at speed numbers and be like ok this is how it will go, unless...you get swamped and don't know about it from a shaman. If you're number horny this game is great and will be easy, if it's just an auto battler to you, you might not be too happy. There is some obvious rock paper scissors happening, but it gets muddied REALLY fast when you add like 10 other rock paper scissors battles that decide the result for you. Sure your archer can take out their flying unit, but...what if their assassin goes after your archer? Oh? You're prepared with a tanky unit to shield them? Ok...but what if they get enhanced with magic and take out your primary tank? Then EVERYTHING falls apart. It's a lot of thought process to think about. The 5 v 5s get pretty intense and if you don't counter right or set up the right parties you WILL get walled. I think probably one party I thought was ridiculous and never could beat with most of my parties was Sainted Knights with Clerics in the front or something. They do NO damage, they solely exist to wall you and sap your points. If you have no anti heal you get fucked by these guys on a map and potentially have to restart. --- [05:45:34] I bought an American L and it was like a tent ... Copied to Clipboard!
