Im a fan of the psn game RAIN.

I haven't played it, but Tokyo Jungle looked interesting.

Tornado Outbreak. Yes, you play as a tornado. It's like Katamari Damacy.

3D Dot Game Heroes

Don't know that I'd call it hidden, but it is a gem.

Some good recommendations have already been made in the topic. Tokyo Jungle and Puppeteer.
I'll also add Remember Me and Brothers - though I don't know how many other consoles they appeared on if any.

i have all of those. played puppeteer. would be great if they brought it to the ps4/ps5. would plat again. i'm planning on hooking up my ps3 soon i might target katamari forever in the future.

A true hidden gem is a game called Tears to Tiara II. I was skeptical at first because it is part visual novel part SRPG. I was skeptical because I had never had a desire for a visual novel. But this game strikes a great balance between a solid SRPG and a story that legitimately pulled me in and had some great voice acting and characters that really impacted me.

I wouldn't call this next one hidden but Eternal Sonata was one of my favorite experiences on PS3 as far as jrpg goes. Very colorful and fun and I thought a unique way of presenting the story. Alice Madness Returns had a great setting and art style and was enjoyable. I normally dislike post apocalyptic settings but highly enjoyed Enslaved Odyssey to the West. It felt more like a colorful jungle setting than the typical brown and gray post apocalyptic stuff of that era.

Anyone who is a Rune Factory fan should absolutely pick up Rune Factory Tides of Destiny. A rare console appearance for the series at the time and a great game. Oh and during that era on the PS3 board people wouldn't stop talking about Vanquish and Binary Domain being under the radar good third person shooters.

There are a smattering of others I could include probably but this is a good start.

Binary Domain is fantastic but you can just get the PC one for a better experience.

I was more talking about games in that era. I realize many of these games are available on other platforms.

I'd second 3D Dot Game Heroes, I was absolutely addicted to the character creator. I had really hoped they'd do another one.

Pomeranian was my best and longest run in that game lol. Taking on freaking raptors and lions with my squad of cute doggies.

I agree with 3D Dot Game Heroes. It at the time felt soulless but I think years later if I were to play it, it would feel like the nostalgia has boosted the soul in my eyes.

I also want to prop up Legasista. It's a 200 floor randomly-generating dungeon game with options of 'gates' to use when going to the next floor. The gates are usually 2-3 gates a floor and their effects are random. Sometimes you'll be forced to level up the dungeon's strength moving to the next floor by like, 666 levels (because the gates from floor 20 to floor 21 might be limited) and next thing you know, you are fucked, lmao. I loved this game. My brother did too. He actually tried getting it on his computer recently. Would be fun to see him play that.

They might not be super obscure or anything, but there's a good chance you overlooked them even if you did hear of them.

I mentioned it in my post. I loved it. One of my favorites on PS3. So colorful. Enjoyed the large cast and the story element behind it. Found the gameplay fun. Yeah overall I really liked it. Got all the ultimate weapons and did everything to 100%.
