President Trump is going all in on the national redistricting war with his call for the Commerce Department to conduct a new census ahead of the next scheduled one in 2030.

Trump said in his Truth Social post on Thursday that the census would not count those who are in the country illegally and use the results and information gained from the 2024 presidential election. The plan would likely face significant legal hurdles, as the Constitutions 14th Amendment states that the census should be conducted on the basis of the total number of people in each state.

And now his call for a new census, to be conducted in the midst of the redistricting battles and years ahead of schedule, shows hes doubling down on this strategy of adjusting the terms of engagement in the elections to come.

Trump doesn't actually want any of this. He just wants to eat McDonald's and play golf.

Literally everything he's doing was outlined in Project 2025.

He wanted to be a dictator in his first term too, but the administration still actually had people with principles that he hadn't fired yet. That's why the first thing this admin did when he took office was clean house and fire everyone who would oppose him.

There's a level of truth to it. Stephen Miller is VERY clearly the main guy when it comes to ICE and immigration.

I'm not saying Trump doesn't care and isn't doing anything of course but it's absolutely not all him. I'm pretty sure if it was purely up to Trump? He would indeed be ignoring businesses when it comes to the ICE raids because he'd feel bad for the poor owner class having their slaves taken away. Stephen Miller on the other hand? Yeah, different situation there.

Fair enough, still, what's currently happening with ICE and immigration in general is basically everything Stephen Miller could have ever hoped for, he's clearly the primary influence going on there.
