I fucked up and hit Path of Radiance before I saw PSO there at the bottom WHOOPS

lost kingdoms was cool as hell but the award goes to symphonia

LK1 was decent, LK2 very good imo

looked up Lost Kingdoms and immediately called that it was a FromSoftware game from the first screenshot I saw lol

Skies of Arcadia and Phantasy Star Online.

It's wild to think about how few RPGs there were on the Nintendo 64, GameCube and even the Wii.

There were only about 30 Total Rpgs on the GameCube and roughly 5 or 6 on the N64, which is insane compared to the sheer amount on the Switch now.

i've only beaten Path of Radiance, TTYD and Pokemon XD (I have played, but not beaten, Pokemon Colosseum; this is mostly because I only ever rented it, I never got my own copy of it) but PoR is my favorite game ever

(though I have bought Tales of Symphonia, and Skies of Arcadia is a game I have wanted to play for years and for that reason is one of my most wanted re-releases)

I voted PoR because I have to, but as that other topic from last week made clear I think if Fire Emblem counts as an RPG then we've really gotta wrap this genre shit up.

I enjoy all of these games but I had to vote for Skies of Arcadia, as it is very precious to me. I wish we'd get a new Lost Kingdoms game but lmao fat chance of that happening any time soon

PoR > Skies but I love both.

I do agree that Skies desperately needs a remake.

I feel like if Skies simply just had a option for faster battle speeds it would be enough

I think there are mods for emulated Skies that do that, but an official version would be highly appreciated

Yeah, just improve the battle speed and reduce the encounter rate a bit (more), and it would be a big upgrade

TTYD > PoR > ToS > XD > SoA

I've also ordered a custom deck of cards of all the Lost Kingdoms card art that I ripped myself, and I have japanese copies of both LK1 and LK2 (Rune and Rune II)

BUT

the capture card system

LK2 put forth a really dumb idea that capture cards should be specific cards you have to buy and fill up your deck slot with instead of LK1 that you could chuck literally anything to cap monsters

I always dreamed of a LK3 to continue with all the great progress of LK2 but hopefully go back to LK1's capture card system or maybe a middle-ground like maybe hold capture cards as separate ammo slot to your card deck, AND DEFINITELY NOT INCREASE IN PRICE EVERY TIME YOU BUY ONE

although there is the card dupe glitch through multiplayer to make a whole buncha them, but yeah the sequel really wanted capturing to be a limited thing and I think that's dumb

oh i forgot the other fun fact

my name Grimlyn is a reference to LK2 protag Tara Grimface (+ my name being Lyn and the combo sounding like a gremlin)
