I kind of like the background of EU better, so I almost gave it to them. But the formatting for "yellow version" just looks janky so it loses by a thin margin

Different coloring and different background makes it different enough.
Also, there's way less text on the EU box.

Now see, this is what I'm talking about. The japanese box art for red and blue was fierce and with charizard spitting fire and blastoise yelling, while the japanese box art for yellow is cutesy. Meanwhile, the american box art for red and blue was calmer than the japanese box art, and as for yellow the american box art is the more fierce one compared to japanese, the universe aligns once more.

NA Iconic.

I know its a minor thing, but the font used for the version (e.g. Yellow Version) on NA just tickles my nostalgia whenever its used. Didnt make it past Gen 2, but I love it.

I get the why, it's the same font as the "Special Pikachu Edition". It just looks bad, if it had been centered with the same font as NA, Eu would have taken it for looking cleaner

I nominate Sonic 3D Blast if people want one with pretty different box art for different regions

NA is cleaner, JP better represents the character. Although I suppose Pikachu was a jerk early on.

This is the best pokemon game. It was the only 'third version' that offered a completely different experience compared to the two counterparts and it followed the anime in elements.
