Smackdown recap in San Antonio
- There's a wreck outside the arena involving the MFT! More to follow, as Adam Pearce is in charge tonight.
- Charlotte Flair defeated Raquel Rodriguez after Alexa Bliss's assistance countered Roxanne Perez's assistance
- Police ask Adam Pearce for Jacob Fatu's whereabouts, as he is a person of interest in the incident with the MFT. Fatu is defensive at first but complies and agrees to answer questions after Pearce reasons with him.
- Damian Priest defeated Carmelo Hayes by DQ after Aleister Black interferes. He lays out Priest with Black Mass to end the segment.
- Solo Sikoa and the MFT come to the ring. Tonight is the perfect example of what Jacob Fatu really is; he's reckless, listens to nobody and only cares about himself. Solo made Jacob successful, gave him money, fed his family, gave him his only title, and yet he deserves none of it. Jacob is shown backstage being cleared by the police, and he immediately heads for the ring. Jimmy Uso appears from behind to help fight the MFT; Jacob and Jimmy double team Talla Tonga, before working together on Solo Sikoa. Sikoa gets saved by JC Mateo and Tonga Loa, who both get chair shots from Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso. Adam Pearce then books Solo vs Fatu in a steel cage match at Summerslam, right before Solo Sikoa is arrested by police for attempting to stage a wreck and frame Jacob Fatu in the process!
- Stephanie Vaquer defeated Alba Fyre. Afterwards, Piper Niven attempted to ambush Vaquer, but comes up short in the end.
- Andrade and Rey Fenix defeated DIY, Fraxiom, and Motor City Machine Guns to become the new #1 contenders for the WWE Tag titles
- Cody Rhodes appears for the Summerslam contract signing. He gets the crowd fired up mentioning that his dad and brother were Texans, Outlaws, and he wanted to be just like both of them. Cody mentions his obstacles and how he did not flinch when going face to face with Rollins, Reigns, Lesnar, and The Rock, yet he flinched when he went up against Cena, something he promises to never do again. Adam Pearce then brings out Cena. Cena tells Cody that he won't be at Summerslam. Cena is filming a big movie for Netflix and everyone feels that he shouldn't compete at Summerslam. He says Cody can fight him at Paris or Perth, but Summerslam is not a reality, and it's what's best for business. Fans are not happy with this, as Cena tries to explain. He leaves and Cody immediately chases him down and fights him outside the ring. Cena gets the upper hand and prepares to hit Cody with the title, but Cody kicks Cena and grabs the belt, hitting Cena with it himself! Cody puts Cena on the table and splashes him through it. Finally, Cody takes Cena's hand and signs the contract for him, before revealing that the contract also says it's a street fight!

14 more appearances until John Cena retires!

Not gonna pretend to watch TNA but them putting both their titles on NXT talent remains stupid to me. Apparently one of their talents is red hot and in his hometown with a large crowd and they didn't pull the trigger on him beating Trick?

I've yet to see a TNA star come out good from this collab with WWE. It's just making them look like the third tier that they are

Plus they put their women's title on the NXT Women's champion now.

The numbers don't lie though, Slammiversary was the biggest crowd TNA ever had yesterday.

Team 3D vs Hardys at Bound for Glory as a last hurrah might be interesting. Too bad they probably can't get Adam and Christian on board

Cora Jade either lives across the road from where I used to live in downtown Orlando or knows someone who lives in that complex.

I'm not a creepy stalker, I actually barely knew who she was until recently. Cory Hayes regularly retweets her photos on my twitter timeline and it was obvious from the background in the photos which building the photos were taken in (my balcony view faced that direction)

I actually only follow Cory Hayes from Orlando Magic back in the COVID days (he listened to our podcast). It's so bizarre how he's become this pseudo wrestling insider given how I originally know him

Raw recap in Houston
- CM Punk kicks off Monday Night Raw! Punk had 2 goals upon returning: main event Wrestlemania and win a world championship. He's halfway there, and now he can focus on the latter. Punk commends Gunther for being one of the best in the world, but promises to never quit for the fans. CM Punk only has 2 weeks to prepare for this fight, but he's been prepared his entire life because he is the best in the world! This brings out The Ring General. Gunther didn't come out here to throw insults or create drama, but does say they have a lot in common: they both think they're the best in the world, they're here to make money, and they both have massive egos. But Punk's ego is solely fed by his fans; Gunther's ego is created by his results and is fully justified. Gunther promises to beat CM Punk from bell to bell and confirm once and for all that Punk will never be the best in the world. But at least Punk will have a group of mindless degenerates chanting his name for the rest of his life.
- Naomi cuts off a Stephanie Vaquer interview, telling Vaquer that she's going to survive at Summerslam before winning at Paris shortly after. To add fuel to the fire, Naomi mentions that Iyo was dog walking Stephanie in their match after Wrestlemania, something Naomi wouldn't have let Iyo do.
- Sheamus defeated Rusev when Rusev's plan to use Sheamus's weapon backfires
- An interview with El Grande Americano is interrupted by Dragon Lee, who is not happy with El Grande disgracing the art of Lucha Libre, and a brawl breaks out
- LWO defeated New Day and American Made to become the new #1 contenders to the World Tag titles
- After the Kabuki Warriors and Iyo Sky hype each other up, Stephanie Vaquer comes in and hints at facing Iyo in Paris. Iyo and Stephanie both have different opinions on their match back in April, so they agree to settle things tonight!
- Dominik continues to stall going to see medical while avoiding AJ Styles. New Day comes in next and discusses Adam Pearce killing his own tag team division while seeking an advantage. Grayson Waller appears out of nowhere and says Austin Theory is injured and Grayson can finally be free and join the New Day! New Day is hesitant but think on it.
- Becky Lynch comes out next. Becky hates being booed and wants appreciation put on her name. She shouldn't be in Houston tonight, she should be in NY at the premiere of Happy Gilmore 2. But as a leader, she has to act like one and is here to explain her actions. Becky won fair and square at Evolution, and now Lyra is bogarting all the title shots, saying Lyra is being greedy seeking out the tag titles to have two titles; Becky's two belt run in 2019 was different and revolutionary, however. This brings out Lyra, who is tired of Becky's selfishness. Becky and Lyra lay down new stipulations for Summerslam: one being this is Lyra's last chance to challenge Becky for the belt, and that it will be a no disqualification match! Becky doesn't want to be disrespected anymore and asks for a handshake. Lyra shakes hands and immediately hits a Manhandle Slam!
- Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez defeated Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to retain the Women's Tag titles. During the match, Becky Lynch took advantage of the ref being distracted by AJ Styles chasing Dominik Mysterio and attacked Lyra!
- Adam Pearce gives Dominik an ultimatum: Go to medical now or be stripped of the Intercontinental title! Dominik reluctantly heads for medical
- Karrion Kross defeated Sami Zayn thanks to a Scarlett distraction and a steel pipe shot
- Dominik ambushes AJ Styles backstage and announces he is cleared so the match is on!
- Stephanie Vaquer defeated Iyo Sky by DQ after The Secret Hervice interferes. Iyo and Stephanie fight all three off until Naomi interferes from behind, turning it into a 4 on 2. Rhea Ripley runs out and lays waste to Chelsea's security, then Naomi, and then finally drops Chelsea with a Riptide.
- Heyman, Bron, and Bronson are out next. Heyman introduces himself and stands out here with the future of the industry. Before Roman Reigns comes out, Heyman has so much to get off his chest. Roman wastes no time and makes his way out before Heyman can explain. Heyman has no intentions of being disrespectful or rude like anyone born in Texas. He informs Roman that Seth Rollins will be out for a long time, and there's a leadership position open! Heyman tells Roman that they're far better together than they are as opposing forces, and that he still loves his tribal chief! Roman finally gets a mic and gets Houston to acknowledge him. A few years ago, Roman would've noted Heyman said wise words just now. However, it's 2025 and Heyman is just a dumbass. Roman says Bron Breakker should take notes, especially that a few years from now, Heyman will take credit for Bron's success, much like he did Roman's. Heyman was a part of Roman's successful title run, but wasn't the reason he kept the belt for so long: he credits the Usos, Solo, and Sami on why he was champion for nearly 4 years. He lost the belt and went home to help raise the future Bloodline; Heyman can't take credit for creating the Bloodline because that was God's work. Roman once considered Heyman to be family, but Heyman threw it all away for a "best friend" he hadn't spoken to in 10 years; therefore Heyman ruined the Bloodline, not Roman! Bron takes the mic and tells Roman that no one wants him there anymore. Roman is the old dog that was relevant 5 years ago; Paul won't backstab Bron Breakker because Bron holds value while Roman is worthless. Bron is the Big Dog, the Top Dog, and the future of WWE! Roman dismisses everything Bron said and begins fighting both men! Before Bronson can prepare for a Tsunami, Jey Uso runs out and evens the odds. Jey and Roman lay them out with spears and stand tall to end Raw

Smackdown recap in Cleveland
- 10 bell salute for Hulk Hogan, followed by a tribute video
- Logan Paul comes out and his hometown is not happy to see him. He accuses them of thanking him during the 10 Bell Salute. Cleveland may have raised Logan, but Logan made the city what it is today. He's also better than the community because he made it out of Cleveland and they didn't. But he's here for them and is gonna give them a sneak peek of Impaulsive TV. Jelly Roll cuts him off and says Logan Paul has only inspired little kids to be assholes on social media. Logan cuts him off and says that Jelly Roll is coming into the ring against two of WWE's finest and Orton has to settle for this. Jelly Roll says Logan's never struggled in his life, and Jelly is fighting for those who struggle, those who were bullied, and those neglected. Eventually McIntyre comes in and rips his shirt off and flexes on Jelly Roll. This brings out Orton to even the odds. Both sides brawl with Orton taking out McIntyre outside and Jelly Roll hitting a black hole slam on Logan Paul!
- Roxanne Perez defeated Alexa Bliss thanks to an assist from Raquel Rodriguez
- Jade Cargill promises to win the Women's title at Summerslam. After she leaves, Chelsea Green appears and says Jade stole her spot in the Queen of the Ring tournament and insults her. Jade reappears and beats down Chelsea, forcing her out to the ring
- Jade Cargill defeated Chelsea Green. The Secret Hervice comes out and ambushes Cargill afterwards until Tiffany Stratton makes the save
- Cody Rhodes is here! He thanks Hulk Hogan for his contributions to wrestling. Cody says there are street fights and then there's what is about to happen at Summerslam. It won't be about virtue or honor, it will be about violence. Cody doesn't wanna fight this version of John Cena, the guy who tried to back down and count down the days until he retires; Cody wants to fight the REAL John Cena. Come fight Cody like it's his first Summerslam instead of his last. Run to the ring, wear the title the right way, and be the pinnacle of hustle, loyalty, and respect once again. Cody wants to fight the real John Cena because he wants to know if everything he's been through is real, and Cena is the only person who can answer that.
- Jacob Fatu cuts the same promo as before on Solo Sikoa until The Miz cuts him off and reminds everyone who he is, telling Fatu that he got them a match right now!
- Jacob Fatu defeated The Miz. The MFT beats down Fatu until Jimmy Uso with a chair heads down to help! Fatu prepares to end Solo with the chair until Talla Tonga lays him out, then MFT takes out Fatu and Jimmy for good measure.
- Street Profits intend to win back the tag titles, but gets cut off by DIY, who blame the Profits for ruining the tag team division. They promise to beat the Wyatts and tell the Street Profits to stay out of their way.
- Giulia now has a representative, Kiana James, who deals with Zelina Vega determined for revenge. Kiana lets her know there will be a rematch for the title next week
- Andrade and Rey Fenix defeated Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy by DQ after Nikki Cross pulls the referee out. Fraxiom, MCMG, and the Street Profits come out to fight the Wyatt Sicks and afterwards, a huge brawl ensues! Nick Aldis has had enough and books a TLC match for Summerslam!

Raw recap in Detroit
- 10 bell salute for Hulk Hogan, followed by the same memorial video from Smackdown
- Jey Uso is now in yo' city! We get no encore as Paul Heyman immediately comes out. He intends to be respectful to Jey Uso tonight. Heyman comes out to speak man to man, from the heart. Heyman says Jey always does things for his family, but Jey needs to learn that family will always let you down. He tells us that everyone's mother lied to them about Santa giving them gifts (except for the Jewish people). He says Rikishi lied to Jey. He even says Roman lied to Jey about being the next tribal chief. But Heyman is different because he loves Jey Uso, just like family. After a cringe worthy YEET from Heyman, Jey responds that family is why he's there. He did his accomplishments to prove something to himself, but he'll always fight for his family day in and day out. Jey promises that whatever happens tonight and at Summerslam will be on Paul Heyman! Jey ends the segment with the encore that he promised earlier.
- AJ Styles and the Kabuki Warriors defeated Dominik Mysterio, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez
- Grayson Waller interrupts Sheamus's interview and ends up getting a match with him
- Sheamus defeated Grayson Waller. Rusev immediately attacks Sheamus after the match
- Naomi interview backstage. Rhea's not the only one to bring brutality, and Naomi can fly higher than Iyo. She plans on being aggressive aggressive, far better than their passive aggressive attitude, and will make a statement at Summerslam.
- Lyra Valkyria is out next, wearing her Becky stomping shoes. She promises to become the first ever 2 time Women's IC Champion! She says Becky will have to beat her into the ground in order to survive Summerslam. Lyra tried to play nice, but Becky's dirty tactics has caused her to realize that isn't the answer. Lyra promises to go to a place she's never been, and that brings out Becky attempting a sneak attack. The sneak attack fails, as Lyra snatches the kendo stick from Becky and lays her out with multiple hits before she escapes!
- Corey Graves interviews Sami Zayn. Sami wants to be done with Karrion Kross once and for all. He doesn't know what kind of truth Kross wants, but promises to end him. This interview gets interrupted by Kross himself, who tells Graves to beat it. Kross is angry that Sami hasn't submitted to his dark thoughts. He says Sami will acknowledge that Kross told the truth after Kross wins at Summerslam, and then he'll walk away. Sami questions Kross's puppet master mentality, and says if Kross loses at Summerslam, he must admit to Sami that he was wrong.
- Interview with Bayley. She's completely dejected and feels lost, knowing she's set to miss both Wrestlemania and Summerslam this year
- Stephanie Vaquer, Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, and Nikki Bella defeated Naomi and The Green Regime
- Finn Balor wants to cheer up the defeated Judgment Day members. He reminds them that Judgment Day has outlasted numerous factions and they still have nearly all the gold on Raw. After Finn and JD leave, Roxanne Perez gives Dominik Mysterio a Switch 2, much to Raquel's disgust.
- Judgment Day defeated The Latino World Order to retain the World Tag titles after assistance from 2 different El Grande Americanos
- Out comes The Ring General! Gunther brags about beating CM Punk on the mic last week, claiming he left The Voice of the Voiceless speechless. Gunther made Punk understand that he doesn't deserve to be the best in the world, that he won't be WHC, and he made Punk shut the hell up and this brings out the challenger! Punk was more dumbfounded than speechless and last Monday, he realized he doesn't want to be World Heavyweight Champion... he NEEDS to be World Heavyweight Champion! Wrestling is CM Punk's addiction, and he needs to win the title so he can thank the fans that chanted his name for over a decade. Punk's left a trail of bodies that puts Gunther's resume to shame, and Gunther will learn that he isn't on Punk's level. But Gunther can have the consolation prize that he shared a ring with the REAL best in the world!
- Jey Uso defeated Bronson Reed by DQ after interference by Bron Breakker. Their plan to double team Jey Uso is thwarted by Roman Reigns, who comes in and cleans house. Roman helps Jey up and the two attempt to capitalize on the outside but get leveled by Bron and Bronson! They throw Jey Uso in the ring and lay him out with a spear and Tsunami. Bron obliterates Roman with a crossbody over the announce table. Bron carries Roman into the ring, where Bronson hits a Tsunami on the OTC! Bron tells Roman that everything in this ring and arena belongs to him now! Bronson throws Roman out of the ring, and Bron spears Roman and Jey through the barricade. Bronson takes Roman's sneakers as a war trophy and celebrates with Bron and Heyman as Raw comes to a close

Smackdown recap in Newark
- John Cena kicks off Smackdown! He gets no chance to speak as Cody Rhodes decides to come out! Cena expresses frustration that Cody didn't respect his wishes, assaulted him, and forged his signature. And for that, Cena simply says "Thank you." Cena says 5 months ago, he linked up with people that wanted to create shocking content, only to realize that those people left. Cena doesn't wanna take the title home because he wants to ruin wrestling, but because he doesn't want the fans to forget him. Cena says Cody beat sense into him, saying that he's more fueled than ever for this Sunday, and August 1st marks the day that John Cena returned to wrestling! Cena says the fans win this Sunday because they get to see a genuine street fight with no rules and the only platinum rapper that's gonna whip Cody's ass at Summerslam is Cena himself, because THE CHAMP. IS. HERE! Cody takes his jacket off and welcomes John Cena back with a toasting of beers. The fans are in full support of Cena as Cody leaves.
- Footage of Logan Paul crashing Jelly Roll's training session. As security tries to pull Logan off him, Drew McIntyre appears and clears the crowd so he can lay out Jelly Roll with a Claymore!
- Giulia defeated Zelina Vega to retain the Women's US title
- Solo is interviewed backstage, stating he only cares about his title and his MFTs and denies requesting a steel cage tonight. He promises that Talla Tonga will take out Jimmy Uso.
- Los Garza defeated Mr. Iguana and Psycho Clown to retain the AAA Tag Team titles
- Logan and Drew are interviewed backstage who immediately dismiss Cathy's questions and leave
- Damian Priest defeated Aleister Black by DQ after Black threw a chair at him. Black continues the assault with multiple chair shots, head shots into steel steps, and finally a Black Mass.
- Jade tells Tiffany backstage that she didn't need help last week. Tiffany responds that she doesn't wanna hear excuses from Jade after she retains the title tomorrow.
- Talla Tonga defeated Jimmy Uso. After the match, Solo brings out the rest of the MFTs to beat down Jimmy and commands the cage to be lowered. Jacob Fatu arrives just in time to get in the cage before it completely lowers. Solo and Talla bail as Fatu immediately begins laying waste to JC Mateo and Tonga Loa.
- Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair still have different opinions on what they are. Bliss wants to name their team, but Flair wants to win the tag titles before they put a name on themselves.
- Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul make their way out for the closing segment. Logan says how dare this crowd boo the two best wrestlers in this industry when all they're doing is defending WWE from outsiders. He says Jelly Roll thought Summerslam was a hot dog eating contest. Logan is sick and tired of outsiders using WWE as a stepping stone to get bigger, when people like him and Drew have dedicated their entire lives to wrestling. Jelly Roll is a country star, not a super star, and he will never belong in the ring! Drew adds that whatever happens to Smelly Hole tomorrow is on Randys head. He says theyre just selfish, and when Drew prays bad things happen. Jelly Roll arrives in the back, but now he's not alone as Randy Orton is with him! The two charge to the ring and a brawl ensues. Security breaks them up so McIntyre and Logan escape while Randy and Jelly Roll take out 3 security guards to end Smackdown.

13 more appearances until John Cena retires!

Summerslam Night 1
Gunther vs CM Punk for the WHC
Roman Reigns/Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker/Bronson Reed

Basically.

And effectively they threw the past 18 months in the garbage. Rock's entire storyline with Cody going back as far as the creation of the Final Boss...

- Rock declares intention of challenging Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 40
- Cody wins Rumble, but has special council with The Rock, who convinces Cody to challenge for the WWE title later so that he can face Roman instead
- Fans are up in arms as Cody's in the backseat
- Roman chooses to face The Rock at Wrestlemania. This doesn't work for Cody, who finally selects Roman.
- Rock turns heel and joins The Bloodline, beating up Cody on multiple occasions. He and Roman challenge Cody and Rollins on Wrestlemania 40's first night and win, making Cody vs Roman a no DQ match
- The Bloodline are stopped by Jey, Cena, Rollins, and Undertaker as Cody beats Roman
- Roman leaves for 4 months
- Rock tells Cody that their story will continue someday, and gives Cody a gift that we don't see
- Roman returns at Summerslam 24 as a babyface.
- Roman and Cody join forces to fight Solo and Jacob with victorious results thanks to a returning Jimmy Uso
- Rock returns at the end of Bad Blood, counts down from 3 and leaves without saying anything
- He DOES, however, run an Instagram video for 10 minutes afterwards promoting himself
- Rock doesn't return until January 2025 for the Netflix premiere. All of a sudden, he's singing Cody's praises and congratulating Roman on winning Tribal Combat
- Rock also appears on NXT a night later, because reasons
- Rock appears a month later on Smackdown, wanting Cody to sell his soul and become The Rock's Champion. He offers Cody luxurious items beyond measure
- Cody tells Rock to go fuck himself. Rock has Cena take Cody out, turning heel for the first time in 22 years. Also, Travis Scott is there.
- Rock never appears again, claiming that there's no need for the Final Boss anymore
- Travis Scott helps Cena win the world title at Wrestlemania 41. He's never seen on WWE TV again.
- Cena has a heel run that doesn't even last 4 months, consisting of matches with Orton, Punk, Cody, Jey, R Truth, and tag teamed with Logan Paul once
- Cena turns face 2 weeks after Cody disrespects Cena's wishes to take a break, plus putting Cena through a table, and forging his signature for a street fight at Summerslam.

Unless there's some kind of payoff in 2 days, this was a humongous waste of time

It kind of felt this way at the time and has since proven true, but essentially Wrestlemania 40 was WWE's Endgame. It was a glorious culmination of years of buildup with about as satisfying a conclusion as you're going to get from the medium. And since then, they have failed to capitalize and find new success, with The Rock basically being the equivalent of "the multiverse".

This makes sense. Also, depends on who's being asked, but there are some disappointed with the title runs by Cody, Gunther, Jey, and Cena.

Picks before the show kicks off:
Punk > Gunther
Jade > Tiffany
Bron/Bronson > Roman/Jey
RK-Roll > Drew/Logan (Jelly Roll pins Logan Paul, McIntyre hits Logan with a Claymore afterwards to start an anti-hero run)
Bliss/Flair > Judgment Day ladies
Kross > Zayn

I'm assuming Punk wins and Rollins cashes in, but maybe he's legit injured. I want Punk/Rollins to actually get into the meat of their feud so it cna be done with, because they've just danced around each other so far. Punk's injury, McIntyre, the triple-threat, stuff has gotten in the way for nearly two years. My best hope is a Rollins cash-in tonight and then Hell in a Cell for the title at Bad Blood in October.

Not a bad watch for Night 1. A few tidbits...

- Tiffany Stratton is the first in WWE to beat Jade Cargill clean, and only the 4th woman overall across two promotions to beat Jade (the others being Kris Statlander, Liv Morgan, and Nia Jax)
- Tiffany's run as Women's champion stands at 210 days, the 7th longest in the title's history. If she hangs on to the title for 11 more days, she'll have the longest official reign caused by a cash in, beating Seth Rollins' record of 220 days in 2015
- CM Punk's run as World Heavyweight Champion lasted 5 minutes and 9 seconds, breaking Drew McIntyre's record of 5:46 for the shortest reign
- If you include AEW and ROH, CM Punk is now a 9-time world champion
- Seth Rollins is now a 7-time world champion if you include Ring of Honor

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Killer Kross in AEW in less than 6 months. Where tf does he go from here?

It kinda sucks how much dirt sheets have ruined surprises. The Seth thing tonight would have been cool and shocking it people hadn't been saying for 3-4 weeks that that's what was going to happen. And I don't go seek out that shit, it just turns up on my timeline. But they gotta get their clicks in when they clearly know that's what actually is going to happen

pretty much, they just wanted to take up time in WrestleMania season (and in Scott's case it was forced on them by TKO)

and now they had to break glass on emergency brock
