Where do you place blame?

i blame a combination of several factors, going back decades

biden and the democratic party included

No good option to pick.

All those options, and not one of them I would select

I blame trump, maga, republicans, and the people financially backing trump and pushing all of the propaganda/misinformation for trump getting elected.

I blame the entire media apparatus for constantly sanewashing Trump while jumping on everything they could for everyone else.

Biden not stepping down in time for a contested primary is definitely a significant factor, but there's so much blame to go around.

I blame the people who voted for Trump

I primarily blame whoever was responsible for Biden to go uncontested during the primaries and covering up his cognitive decline until it was too late.

I don't know if I'd say Biden is the biggest factor in Trump getting elected but at least he's definitely A factor.

Nope not at all, where were at today didnt just magically happen overnight, 1 thing eventually leads to another and here we are.I blame the people who didnt vote and who were dumb enough to fall for the bs again.word of the day is accountability.

I mean, I expect better from the Democratic party, but I don't know how to make them do better.

Right, I would think this obvious. There is rarely any situation in where one sole factor is to blame.

A good chunk of the blame goes to him, he should have stepped down as planned and let there be primaries.

Biden was absolutely a significant contributing factor to the current catastrophe and frankly anybody who says otherwise is in denial.

He pitched himself as a transitional one-term President during his campaign and he absolutely should have held to that and allowed proper primaries to be held for a new candidate. For better or for worse the election was in no small part about the public grading his four years and they weren't particularly happy about it.

That could have been sidestepped had he kept his word (a politician lying for power, what else is new).

Now, would the Democrats have won in the ideal scenario? Nobody will ever know, too many variables. But Biden did in fact lock them into this path of demise when he refused to bow out. He deserves some of the credit for it and his utter arrogance. There were paths to victory but they all started with him bowing out prior to the primaries.

I dont blame just one thing for Trump winning.

I will say whether Biden stepped down or not should have been irrelevant to anyone claiming to lean left. He would have still been better than Trump.

He's probably the most principal actor in Trump's election, yes.

As a factor? Yes.

As the sole or most important factor? No.

No, I blame Americans.

I blame Obama, Hiliary, Biden and Harris for it, they all helped build this monster by being to fucking cowardly to embrace the actual progressive nature of the citizens of this country I have no respect for any of them and actually lost a lot of respect I did have for Obama, laughing and joking with that monster, for Biden, selfishly trying to cling to power even through he and his fucking staff knew his mind was gone and even welcoming the monster home and smiling, they legitimized him! After calling him all sorts of names during campaigns and speeches when they're in a room together with him they behave like that?1 Way to make the American people lean even more into same thing both sides narratives and help the right consolidate their hold on people by making the argument "see, if Trump were racist, sexist, bad man criminal why are they smiling and laughing with him? why are they joking with him?" some people call it being civil but civility hasn't ever saved us or won in a match of ideals and getting people on your side and that behavior screwed us. Hiliary I despise she's the one who catapulted Trump because she thought he'd be easy to beat and Harris I'm really disappointed in because she could not, would not and never intended to break from how Biden led things even through his numbers were in the crapper and the people urgently wanted something different and the last time I heard from her is talking to a bunch of big money people behind closed doors saying shit she hasn't been saying in public

Kyle is right, she is a feckless coward not really concerned with what's going on like the rest of the Democrats since she has money, it's up to the real progressives or as everyone else in this country calls them, the far left radical leftists to actually bring change and be the real warriors of democracy that Democrats have ceased to be.

I blame our education system, honestly.

MAGA, billionaires, mainstream media, politicians, the ignorant masses all wanted profits, racism and corruption, etc. I blame foolish humanity for wanting nothing more than to bring tragedy to others. They deserve a lot more blame than Biden.

The voters are to blame first and foremost, but the Democrats deserve a lot of criticism for the candidates they gave us.

I blame the people who voted for him and the eligible non-voters who knew the danger we were in and either ignored it or thought "both sides are the same!" and did nothing to stop it. When the choices are fascism and not-fascism, it's probably time to table "my vote needs to be earned!" for a second and do what's best for everyone (hint: they did not do what's best for everyone).

I personally blame Hunter's laptop.

I believe dems could have won if Biden had stopped after 1 term and allowed a normal election with someone else running and having more time to prepare. It might not have even been Kamala. Maybe someone else would have been selected

As others said I don't solely blame him but his refusal to step down was a significant factor.

Not just him but the family and others in his inner circle who were in a better position to tell him to fall back for the good of the country.

As for the blame, the those who voted for him and the non-voters/3rd party voters, with a healthy dose of the media sanewashing trump and spreading known lies like they were credible.

Can we stop blaming 3rd party/protest voters? Protest voters in Dearborn aren't why Harris lost EVERY swing state, or why she only won Illinois and New Jersey by single digits.

No. And I didn't specify Dearborn or protest voters. There were two outcomes, trump or Harris. Non-voters and 3rd party voters said they didn't care who won.

No. While they are not the sole reason, they are most definitely part of the reason.

Elections have consequences regardless if they liked both candidates. This idea that voting 3rd party or not voting at all didnt contribute to Trump winning is just plain false.

Every non vote and 3rd party voters, literally helped Trump.

Biden stepping down played a part because nobody wanted a woman president. People literally came up with the dumbest reasons to not vote for Kamala like she laughs too weird and etc.

Wheres the option to only blame non-voters or third party voters? I feel like that would get at least the second or third most amount of votes judging from some of the posts around here lol
