Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials & Tribulations - Pursuit ~ Cornered 2004

Which were respectively in VGMC1 and VGMC2. Neo Land is the best the GBAs done in 17 years.

oh god they're not giving y'all this crap early, are they? You haven't even gotten to enjoy Diva Ruka yet!

the worst part is, when they announced the nerfs over the livestream, I thought it was just that they were nerfing the 80%x3 that Diva Ruka and Unison Bungo have. And I was like, yeah, let them be 50%*3 and then maybe Yunyun and the others at 10%*10 can be usable again.

But nope, the others are at a pathetic 6%*10 and it sucks.

Nothing has been announced for Global yet. It wouldn't surprise me if Yostar drags their feet as long as they can with making that change. But, I guess it sort of depends on how things are programmed behind the scenes.

Smiley was my favorite discovery of the nom period! End of 1996 was my favorite discovery of the voting period! This is unfair! How did I not notice that these two were gonna fight each other? Probably too busy listening to both of them and enjoying them and not thinking about the bracket.

I checked the logs and this was also the same day as Poisoned Well. No wonder I was distracted. What a ridiculous day that was.

Oh, wow.... my vote decided all of those matches. @_@ I was hoping Battle f8 would do better than that, though. Conquest looks like the favorite to beat it, unfortunately... granted, I LOVE Conquest (the way it develops), so I'm happy either way.

I haven't thought about a possible champion until yesterday. Now I wonder if Precipice could be the one... (now watch it fall next round) I'd be interested to hear some of your thoughts on who might win it all!

Tier 2: get the regret over, About 10 Hours Looking at the Ceiling, halved halved halved, Plague

Battle -alkalic acid rush-: The only parts Im not into are the super loud ones. Aside from that, this is a song filled with good, unusual sounds: the bubbling at the start, the simmering from 0:35-0:51, and from 2:55 to the loop the mellow bass melody and accompanying clinking, giving some relief before the chaos restarts. And of course the whos that Pokemon? sound: DREEPY DREEPY DREEPY

Tier 1: Silly Billy, Battle! (Champion), Hikari no Metamorphosis, VI. THE SWORD, Hero

Tier 2: Main Theme, Spring to mind, Kono Hoshi Ni Aru Inochi

Battle! (Champion): The start always makes me think its surf rock and then its not. Still a good song though, a pretty princess castle theme that gets shot through by electronic blasts.

Hikari no Metamorphosis: Kinda got lost in the anime vocals shuffle, but on reflection its quite high up on my tier list. Strong emotion from the vocalist, another thats reminiscent of Caligula except here the enthusiasm springs from genuine happiness. Its so happy, 1:06 literally sparkles, and the instrumentations bright overall.

Tier 1: Extol, Blancmute, Concept of Love (Concept of Passion), Fractured Shrines, October Mermaid

Tier 2: Fall of Fall ~ Autumnal Waterfall, Non-Linear Reliance, Level 700-899

Extol: Would not be top tier without the wobbles that start at 0:38. Them being so incongruent tonally with both the almost religious-sounding chanting and the thumping dance beat makes the song so much more fun.

Blancmute: Curiously similar to Extol: reverent chanting, springy beats. However, this one is all about the empty space, taking seriously the scale and grandeur it depicts.

Tier 1: TuNGSTeN, Team Chaotix, Blow Me Away, A.D. 1995 Story, Fungal Jungle (Mushroom Caverns), Glacier Palace (Great Spire)

Tier 2: Golf Central, Outdoors at 7 p.m. (Sunny) / Main Street

Team Chaotix: More songs need a built-in crowd to cheer the title of the song.

Blow Me Away: Unless its a heavy, dark song like this one. While it does have some pretenses of sounding heroic, its at its best at times like the chorus, where it admits yeah, youre probably going to die, and 2:24-2:28, the quick mental breakdown before the real screaming starts.

A.D. 1995 Story: Seemingly trying to be a laidback intro theme, but that jumpscare opening and the scene of desolation from 1:33-1:54 tell a different story. That sections by far the best, with how it does the call-and-response, bad-to-worse, sadly echoing to getting stabbed routine while casually keeping the beat going as if nothings wrong.
