A classic Rushmore topic: lots of discussion, a close vote for 4th, and drama that I accidentally caused. I should be more careful in explaining what are rules and what's a personal opinion! The Tramp got a big push after being mentioned about halfway through the votes. A bunch of vote changes, especially those against Crono and Red and for The Tramp, also helped. But it just barely isn't enough.

Today's Parameters

You must pick LGBT fictional characters that are in a film.

LGBT is defined as having a sexual/romantic orientation, sex characteristic, or gender identity that are a minority. This includes, but is not limited to: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, queer, questioning, asexual, aromantic, and non-binary.

All types of film are fine, including animated films and made-for-TV films.

Characters do not necessarily have to originate from a film, but should be chosen based on their film adaptation as opposed to their original material.

Fictionalized versions of real people are allowed, including actors performing a fictionalized version of themselves (i.e. Colbert, Fielder, etc.).

Characters do not have to explicitly identify as LGBT. It can be implied, either on-screen or off-screen.

Judy Garland was a queer icon who was one of the most outspoken pro-LGBT celebrities of her era, and Wizard of Oz was interpreted with a lot of queer subtext, which led to "Friend of Dorothy" outright being synonymous with "gay" for a long time, especially in areas where actually referring to yourself as gay was dangerous

I'm not sure I have opinions on the last two. For me personally it feels tasteless, despite being allowed by the rules, to call real people like Brandon Teena or Harvey Milk "movie characters" so I'm not doing that.

I feel like there should be more lesbian options. Big change from the games list.

There should be!

I feel like it's an interesting parallel, movie audiences seemed to becoming acknowledging of gay men faster than lesbians, but gaming is the opposite, where gamers still freak out at the idea of playing as a gay man but are (somewhat) more ok with lesbians

Yeah this was the trickiest one to think of

That's why I went with NTW. Being relatively prominent in a Marvel/now Disney property seems like a pretty big deal

A lot of them are more artsy films that come to mind (Portrait, Persona, The Favourite, probably others that I cant think of)

went with Lily because EEAAO is probably the biggest film I can think of with a lead being a lesbian?

I feel like a lot that belong on the list are probably cult classics most people (Here) haven't seen.
