She spoke to them about Immune Deficiency and that more should be done to cure it I think

She wasn't actually physically in DC I don't think. She is in Puerto Rico and can't even leave her house usually. So I'm assuming she was streaming to a laptop that someone carried around

I know nothing about vtubers but did she stream to them like actually as herself, or as her avatar? Because that would amuse me some senators secretary having to sit there and talk with an avatar on a laptop and wondering how the hell they got roped into that situation.

That's a good cause but...speaking to this congress, with this HHS director about something like that just seems like a huge waste of time.

I haven't been recommended any IronMouse (or any other VTubers, for that matter) videos in a while.

Also wondering this. I kind of hope that she did as her avatar only for the fact that if she showed her real self and a video got out showing her, it would be extremely bad for her privacy.

I imagine the Hispanic female talking about healthcare went over very well with our current political situation. Cool that she did it but I can't imagine it'll do anything.

Judging by the video in the OP I assume she spoke to them as her avatar. She had to explain what vtubers were to them.

I kind of thought since she had to explain it vs them visually seeing it that maybe that meant she wasn't using her avatar. It can be read both ways kind of I suppose.

That's to avoid any drama. Most all vtubers have their leanings that you can tell by watching them, if they don't already outright state it in their social media posts.

To be clear, she didn't go into the main hall or anything. She spoke to individuals alongside the IDF.

She was on a tablet on a moving tripod. She uses this setup when attending conventions too.

Mainly for indie vtubers and smaller corpos. Hololive vtubers for instance avoid politics like the plague.

I think she only leaves her house if she needs to go to the hospital. She apparently can't safely go outside. She might be in a sterile "bubble" when she goes to the hospital.

Yeah, Vtubers never actually come in person to cons. Atleast from what I gather. Maybe it has happened before but typically, it's an audience talk sort of thing.

Actually a lot of them do come in person, especially if they're doing a performance or panel. They just have a place backstage to stream their model from. Some will simply go incognito for fun. And there are those whose real faces are known and just go as-is.
