No shade to Pedro but I just feel like he is miscasted as fuck. Movie looks great otherwise

Cant say Im feeling Reed and sues actors still. But aside from that it looks great. I also dont care for the silver surfers gender, that and its a alternate reality anyways so if its poorly received then they can just change it later.

On another note Im glad they finally showed Reeds abilitys. No clue why they werent shown in the last teaser.

Yeah, they both look miles above the recent films.

So the kid is clearly going to play a pivotal role in the MCU with the First Steps subtitle, right? Maybe bridge them to the main timeline? Isnt he a reality manipulator of some sort in the comics?

Franklin Richards is basically omnipotent so yeah, he could pretty easily be the bridge between multiverses.

Feels like they're going for a more Howard Hughes captain-of-industry look and vibe with Reed, and in that regard he's looking pretty good; might mean that they'll explore some of the darker undertones of the character. But I don't know enough about Reed's comic history to comment with any authority.

idk if the movie actually looks boring, bc the trailer didnt do it justice for me, but the vibe is ruined by that trailer composition. it's been 20 years can we move on

I continue to be about 75% convinced that all the FF die except Reed and he's going to be "Maker" in the main MCU.

Nah they're totally bringing back Miles Teller's Reed for The Maker. He'd make the most sense.

Yeah, it seems like they're doing less of a socially awkward/aloof Reed and more of a suave/debonair Reed, which I know can be a valid interpretation of him, but it honestly reminds me of Tony Stark's original characterization in the 60s/70s more than anything else, especially with the mustache.

Regardless, I'm definitely hyped.

Is it a good idea to portray him as a giant who's big but still small enough to walk through a city? What would be the likely most desirable way to portray him in a movie?

Silver Surfer being played by Ruth Langmore from Ozark is still wild casting. Also Cid from FF16 plays Galactus.

From how I understand it, Galactus doesn't really have a singular appearance and appears differently to different planets/species. We see him the way we see him in the comics due to us experiencing the story from the perspective of the Marvel heroes, so he takes on a more humanoid form.

He also has the ability to change his size IIRC, so this is all fine.

The space cloud I guess "technically" works under this context, but it made for a visually uninteresting and lame Galactus, when he has one of the most iconic villain designs in all of comics.

Galactus is an extremely powerful Cosmic character in the comics who is more of a force of nature than a good guy or bad guy. He travels across the universe consuming planets, but tries to minimize harm by turning people into heralds, like the silver surfer, to scout ahead and find suitable planets.

The thing is, he needs to eat because he actively does defend the universe against external threats when the time arises, and also because his existence acts as a sort of jail cell for a much more dangerous entity that can't act as long as he is alive.

People didn't really like the space cloud, but the actual Galactus is a giant in weird purple armor so I can understand why Studios would have been reluctant.

I wonder how risky it is to basically retread the Rise of the Silver Surfer which didn't do well. Movie memories are long after all (it's why WB is still afraid to do live-action movie Robin). But other than that, it looks good!

I think it's really going to come down to personality and presentation. You can do the giant man in the silly hat, but you can't have the series actively mock it and he needs to both be presented, and present himself, as cosmic nobility. An impossibly powerful force of nature that has spanned the life of the universe and seen corners of it that no mortal will ever behold. If they can convey the scope and scale of what Galactus is and what he represents than audiences will be okay with the big purple hat. Marvel has done that really well in the past and really poorly as well, so it'll really come down to the writers.

The music is amazing. It's not really surprising that it's done by the same person that did Doctor Strange.

"Doom" for me is one of those rare words that just plain works as a name, no matter how corny it is.

One of my least favorite name 'corrections' in Final Fantasy 6 was changing the Warring Triad member Doom to 'Fiend.' Doom was so much more intimidating.

Maybe Reed's solution is to pull some multiverse B's and kick Galactus into the main universe (and deal with it later)

Depending on how they choose to adapt Galactus, there's already one in every universe because that's how much energy it takes to keep the being imprisoned by Galactus contained. Depending on the story, defeating him may also cause that universe to die because he is personally responsible for each "big bang" that comes at the heat death of the universe. So on paper the F4 beating him in their own universe, forcing them to flee to the main one because they had no idea saving earth would doom them all and also set the early seed for a massive crossover event threat.
