I didn't see +10 steps on the other two options, so I didn't want to risk it. I know ppl recommend Geist but if I lose the +10, this is literally impossible

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/6/6df098e3.png
If this doesn't give me +10 steps, I'm literally game overing myself. The Guess Bedroom is too inconsistent

Yeah the Guest Bedroom is probably the best room for Cursed. If you draft it early and in the corner somewhere, it's real run. Otherwise it's a failed run. That's almost how much of a difference it makes

Ok I spent few hours in the gallery and I finished it. Man that was fun! Here is how I solved it eventually

First painting:
Wrote thick first, then accidentally got think. Inrealized the painting meant Thin K.

Second Painting:
i started with P, and easilly got Ponder but I could not continue before I understood why, after a long time I guessed its a synonym to Think and the P is on red objects

Third painting:
Now this took the longest time, eventually I saw there was a Z, so I tjought it would end with IZE=eyes. Inwas looking at all the other stuff when I realized the Actual Objective maybe means real, so yeah Realize.

Fourth Painting:
I immediately saw words that rhyme, sin, fin, skin, infinite, pin, and thought what Id donof I think avout the same things over and over, and just remember a swedish word for it so half cheated and looked up the translation. Ruminate

I got one painting right by stumbling into it and I'm not sure why it was the right answer.

I loathe the gallery. I am absolutely clueless. Not even close to knowing what the fuck they want from me. Any words I can kinda put together either don't work or don't fit. Infuriating.

And don't tell me shit. I am not looking for tips. I'm gonna go back to it eventually and bash my head against the wall until I get it right.

I dunno if I recommend doing the gallery. I know the answers and I still don't really know why two of them are the answers they are. Reading FF's explanation, I absolutely get the 3rd one now. I admit, that's a clever word play but I would've never ever thought of that

yeah I cheated them all except for the first one. I never would have gotten them. I had figured some of them out partly but there felt like there were too many possible answers. Once I knew the answers and I could figure them out but there was no chance I was getting them on my own

but the way they make sense

  1. The K is thin.
  2. the images are reversed. Theyre all things that are red. So reverse Red is Der and P is On them
  3. genu-wine and veri-table I worked out. But both mean real. + eyes
  4. everyrhing in the room ends in IN and there are 8 things ending in IN so In 8. And I guess its a room? Room In 8
i had trouble on the follow up room too. I only got 5/8 and still cant work out how the remaining 3 work

Major Endgame Spoilers

I am hitting a stuck point and hoping someone can push me towards some in-game hint or a vague clue about where to search to figure out what to do next:

Things I have left to do

Aquarium - got the two file cabinet keys in Patio/Laundry room. But unsure about Bedroom and Hallway
Freezer - have smashed the Ice Wall and defrosted the room via Furnance but unsure what to do with the letter in the actual Freezer Chest
Chess Board - I just have to wait to draft the rooms as I found the King piece today
Chess Board CASTLE clue - havent figured out anything with this
Utility Closet - the 4th Switch I think labelled Cabinet. No clue here
Tomb - just need the Burning Glass to appear again
Library - need to read A New Clue, Curse of Blackbridge and A History of Orindia

I think thats everything

what I know Im missing

Sanctum Keys - I have no idea about Key 8
Safes - 2 to go. Study and somewhere else. Cant figure out the code for the study. I have Drawing Room, Drafting Room, Boudoir, Office, Shelter, Underground
Microchips - no clue. Cheated for the burning glass usage on the Sundial but lost from here
Room 46 - the map with the push pins
Grotto - Full access Admin Password. I do have MoorR

I think I might be done with this game? I've reached a point where I'm sorta dead-ended on everything I know + am just absentmindedly placing rooms without having any ideas or plans. I'd be down to share ideas/brainstorm with people but just looking up complete guides feels a little pointless to me and I may as well just say I'm done with the game at that point

things I am still ??? on, in what I think is rough increasing order of spoileryness -

the words that fill in beside the vertical CASTLE text (I'm pretty sure one of them is cat?)
the poem(?) at the top of the clock tower
the country sigils on the right side of the lever
the "true treasure" of the treasure trove room
the blue door
the poem behind the CASTLE puzzle
and a vague guess as to a way to "beat" the game - collect the crown, put all the jewels back in it, bring it to the throne room

Xerun posted...
what I know I'm missing

apparently there is a limit of 15 spoiler blocks, so rather than spoiler each of your missing things in quotes I will just number them

1 - Look through your rooms directory - what room(s?) can have that many doors?
2 - all the hints for the room you mentioned are in the room itself
3 - read a new clue
4 - save this one for later - the stuff you find behind sanctum doors may help
5 - this one I only know because of this topic lol so if you backread you will find it somewhere here. or alternatively you will find some some relevant info if you read a new clue

I haven't figured everything out about CASTLE but I've found quite a few:

The letters on the tramp stamp of the Cloister, the I I 0 0 note on the Blackbridge, the CA T as you've said. Those combined I only have 3 letters left to figure out. No clue how

Probably not gonna play this for some days while I'm occupied with other shit and The 100 Line.

Recently got triggered by D8 indicating Dec 8. Hell no bro, there were so many possibilities of what that could mean.

since you have found all the rest of the sanctum keys you should probably have seen the object this refers to,it's a poster on a wall in a location that is not a room of the house

that said, I recommend you look at other parts of the book in question instead

Ok solved the Clock Tower

The first puzzle was fine but the second one was annoying.

Specifically the two red memos all the numbers should be different to me that implies the numbers should all be the same not two of them the same but whatever I eventually got it.

the more annoying one was the red memo with handwriting. I havent seen that those are always true for about 40 hours of playtime so f*** me I guess. I had a working solution except for the fact that this was supposed to be true. That was aggravating

Ok I finally got a magnifying glass and read the late game book A New Clue

I honestly have no idea. And I have no idea about the poster mentioned above Ive not seen anything like that I can recall

Did manage to get the Showroom and bought an Emerald Bracelet that lives permanently in my Coat Check so thats made runs really fun. But I do feel at a loss. Because I have no idea how to proceed from here. I managed to get the code to the Study so one letter remains

Feeling pretty dejected about the game at the moment as it feels like I have no idea what to do with any of the information I have left. Still two books to read and hopefully get some info

Just spent like 90 minutes trying to figure out all the quiz answers in my notes. I'm certain on about half of them, have educated guesses on a fourth and then think I know where I gotta go look to figure most of the rest out. Then there are a few that I am just clueless about.

Not sure if this part of the game is fun or not. Also I think all this is going to get me is a trophy that doesn't do anything to help out in the long run.

I'd just recommend setting this train of thought aside for now, there are hints to other puzzles in the book as well (imo which are easier to notice)

one of them is text you probably need a magnifying class to see that leads towards places you can find some more helpful hint text

the other is a purely visual clue with no words at all and big enough to just see

I dunno what level of hints you want (if you want any at all) so I left things a bit vague, feel free to read or not

my wife managed to spot the terminal at the last page which has led us to believe the final admin password is a suspect being a minor which narrowed us down to 4 suspects. There is a handwritten clue that says the suspect is major which makes no sense to either of us. So we are going to try all the 4 in the current admin format and hope that gives us something.

the other plan was to get library books and hope we can see if any have covers and pages relating to the X Y Z A B c puzzle. Current theory is Page A means Page 1. Word Z means word 26

If not we are all out of ideas

I dont notice anything in the book that I think could relate with either of your spoiler texts

side note. Gamefaqs spoiler text function sucks to do on mobile the number of times everything has been completely erased or spoiler text removed is infuriating

Wow, seeing you guys reaching the 46th room on days 15-17 is making me feel kinda stupid. I'm on day 18 iirc and I don't think even close. I've only managed to reach the antechamber twice, once was my very first run, and again on a couple of days ago but the side I had access to was still locked. I assume the unlocked doors stay open, but I haven't been able to confirm that.

Also, last night's run gave me 2 upgrade discs and no computer terminal. Ended up using 123 steps got stonewalled by needing 1 single key to continue, I also had special key I'd never seen before.

Though, over the last few in game days I made a lot of progress. Unlocked the orchard. Then managed to drain the fountain. Then solved the cryot and got to the basement.

Not sure what to do next aside trying to unlock the other antechamber doors(only have the one) and getting in there.

Actual question I'd like answered for the final exam. Is there a periodic table in the game that actually tells you what the letters stand for? I took pics, but it's not like a regular table irl with the names under the letters. Is there no way to find out what Ag stands for in game or are you just supposed to look that shit up irl?

I think youre on the right path. Most people Ive seen got to room 46 around day 20-30.

the people getting it was sooner are either getting lucky or have a lot more information. Theres a lot of stuff you can do to improve your ability to get to the final room you likely dont even know yet.

Seems like a good enough goal to me. if you want tips for getting there (which are different than tips for just generally exploring and learning new things) I've spoilered a few really general ones. They're not puzzle spoilers but in case you don't want the advice
1- don't use your last gem unless you're going to get stuck if you don't
2- don't use any dice unless you're going to get stuck if you don't
3- place some dead ends early so you don't get them later. try to fill the house as much as possible, mostly bottom up instead of skipping ahead
4- try to avoid making any loops or blocked doors (eg a door from one room hitting a wall from another) since those are wasted doors that could lead forward instead)

the second one I can only guess is smash a vase with the sledgehammer in either the entry hall or antechamber

the other one is the Parlor and Library not being corner rooms but no clue how that helps Ive searched both a lot and couldnt find anything helpful so I kind of dismissed that.

edit: did just have a thought an hour later that maybe theres something useful in a corner case in the other rooms. But Im really at a loss as to what to do from here

Noooo... I did 3 runs tonight. This last run I managed to access another door to the antechamber, and was literally 1 room away from accessing it, but I was 1 key short. Had a reroll saved and everything.

Unless you have to fully unlock every antechamber part first, I wasted like 45 minutes desperately searching for a key, but I knew it was pointless as the security room said I didn't miss anything.

Still finding new rooms and stuff though. Had 2 that run and both helped with other things I needed done, but it's so frustrating to be 1 roo. Away from finding out more about the antechamber.

There is an upgrade to the billiard room that guarantees you start with the key card if you end the day there. That one feels pretty op to me, especially in Dare or Curse where the key card generally screws you over a lot due to less chance of getting it

The Room 8 puzzles were honestly kinda bs. I was able to definitively figure out like 4 of them, but I ended up looking up just fucking why the answers were what they were

I absolutely hated that the solution to the math one was literally just count the number of the letters el oh el when almost every other puzzle leading up to that room was stuff like word plays

There was only one really good one there I think, which was the tail end one, which I saw and went ohhhh this has to be here no matter what

I'm not really alone tbh. I saw what ppl had to say about gallery and that room. Nobody likes those weird ass ones

I dunno I thought that entire room was straightforward, it was like a 2-3 minute logic puzzle

the gallery was definitely total ??? though. I got the shortest one from a friend, then I used a regex dictionary to find every single possible word you could even make and it still made no sense to me until after I realized they were all vaguely synonyms

edit: ok it annoyed me so much I looked it up and I think I know what happened. I play with pretty bright settings and early in the morning. So when I did my magnifying glass I couldnt see the numbers that give the clue. even checking my screenshots you can barely see numbers.

Once I saw the numbers and read the message the whole thing made a lot more sense

I got this one and it's nice except it's also annoying to walk back to billiard room since usually I put that near the start to stock up on keys early
It took you 2-3 minute to figure out the whole fucking room including the math one, which had numerous possibilities, and the twins one, which had numerous possibilities? You just happened to take the right approach immediately when every other puzzle esp in the gallery was word play and there was literally like next to no word play involved in that room? I mean I guess you're godly at it or something but I see most ppl on Reddit hated both the gallery and the room after

? am I missing something here? I guess I gotta go look up the puzzle or something mid-post to remind me since it straight up did not stick in my mind at all

ok so -
bin near the tail - this is obvious there's only one spot
bin on the end - this is also obvious now that the tail took the other end
"lounging in the den" - sloth of course, none of the other sins are lounging related
number in the room - there's only one that has 8 letters
that's like half of them right there, and then the others have multiple options... or, had multiple options but they don't anymore since the other option is taken so they all slot in cleanly as well

I mean... Yes? The bins all had clear instructions on them that I could just follow and put the statues in. maybe if that didn't work I would have considered wordplay but I just sorta did it and it worked and I was done, so yeah. I always try the straightforward thing before overthinking it and the straightforward thing was just the answer lol

on a completely unrelated note - oops

Nah that's crazy. You IMMEDIATELY zoned to number in the room - there's only one word that has 8 letters when the game already had roman numerals and there are multiple words with Vs and Is? There were far more than just the possibility of there being only 1 word with 8 letters. The o's in the word Room for instance is not possible to eliminate. m being a sideways 3 is not possible to eliminate. Why? THERE IS A GIANT 8 ON THE SIDE IN THE FUCKING ROOM

My concern is always this, that if the answer isn't a result of eliminating most obvious possibilities, it's not a good puzzle. I figured out the other ones pretty easily, on top of wrath, which was also a stretch but the "puzzle" had a synonym for it.

If I was able to eliminate the math one, then obviously everything would fall into place eventually. Also being far from the fin has many interpretation

Please do not tell me you don't see my concerns here. The actual answers are essentially tantamount to guessing. I did get the right answer without looking it up, but I was baffled by the "logic" when I could equally argue my conclusions can work too

i feel some are straightforward

Sloth is obvious

penguin is 8 letter word and I think theres only one

monkey and Dog are toss up for the ends but dog leans more towards mundane in its text. I think I originally had these ones switched

elephant has to be surrounded by a long word. Chagrin is what I think youre supposed to read to make you think wrath.

lion has to be in envy

swan needs to be near the shark fin so lust

rabbit goes in Avarice cause its left

I originally put Rabbit in Wrath I think because it was next to Gluttony and Lust. So T matched up better than I feel it does with Avarice and Mundanity. And elephant next to Mundanity seems better for a long word.

but yeah some of these feel a bit tenuous and most dont really relate to the sin at all

well yes, that's not the point, the majority of them have nothing to do with the sin it's just the word

this just literally does not satisfy the clue as written - I share a trend with my neighbors sin: a letter and its twin appear on each bin. "a letter and its twin" does not appear in the word WRATH

See, that's not entirely right either. "a letter and its twin appear on each bin" can reasonably be thought of as 1 letter appearing on 1 bin and its twin appearing on the other bin. When a sentence reads as "each," it can, without context, be interpreted as both (one per) or either or (distribution). A better written clue would've said "a letter and its twin appear on both bin"

The problem with that now comes to this: W can be interpreted as double U, as in as long as W is next to a bin with the letter U, it fulfills the condition

The answer is not even remotely close to the most reasonable one, and not all concerns can be chalked up to "don't overthink it," when half the puzzles in this game requires overthinking it. Remember the gallery?

well yeah but you don't overthink it until the normal thinking it has failed you <_<

I also disagree with your interpretation of the english, honestly. the phrase "A and B appear on each bin" would not mean one bin has an A and one bin has a B - it means both bins have both of them. especially since the clue talks about "sharing" a trend, which means the "trend" is something that can exist on a single bin in a vacuum, not something that only shows when looking at both together

I'm pretty sure this is Create and Crate, but would like confirmation.

do you just want answers or do you want hints? that said if you're only missing 4 I feel like you could probably just guess them...
hints:
stage and (a specific species of plant. generally more of an herb than a flower imo)
crate and (a thing you might measure on a chart like that)
wheat and (not the fire itself but something fire related)
yes

My problem with that is that a letter AND its Twin appear on each bin N the twin letter does not appear in Avarice whereas Lemur said T appears through Lust, Gluttony and Wrath. And U appears in Lust and Gluttony and Double U appears in Wrath

i think that clue is fairly tenuous

Thanks.

Locking in one of the pictures really helped figuring out what the other was. I had like 5 possibilities per picture and was frying my brain trying to find a connection.

Now to figure out what the heck to do with it.
