Aside from the opening mission on Eden Prime/Citadel section at the start of ME1. She becomes the Captain of the Normandy while Anderson is mothballed. Sure she's now a Spectre but she's still captain of the ship. Pressly or Kaidan should become a Commander. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/c/cea0c2d9.jpg This is especially dumb in ME2 when she isn't even in the military while captaining the ship and they still call her Commander for no reason like it's her first name. --- ^ Hey now that's completely unfair! http://i.imgur.com/yPw05Ob.png ... The first Normandy was a relatively small ship designed for specialty missions rather than a capital ship meant for fleet battles. Not too surprising that they were okay with a commander being left in charge of that. The second Normandy was larger, but by that point they were operating outside the purview of the Alliance. It's like how in the age of sail commanders were in charge of sloops and brigs that still could fire a decent broadside, and it's not unheard of for commanders to be in charge cutters and destroyers today. --- Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less. ... Not too surprising that they were okay with a commander being left in charge of that. You're seriously downplaying the Normandy. It's a one a kind, crazy expensive, ultra amazing ship that's literally invisible to sensors, that's also a cross-venture with an alien race we were at war with. Refusing to make the Captain a Captain is bizarre and flat out insulting to the Turians. As soon as Anderson was mothballed and Shepard was made a spectre, she should be made captain and either Kaidan/Pressly promoted or someone else assigned as Commander. It would be like if Picard retired and Riker took over the enterprise and was never promoted. It'd be weird. --- ^ Hey now that's completely unfair! http://i.imgur.com/yPw05Ob.png ... In the US Navy, Commander is both a rank and a position. The rank is below a Captain, which is one level below Rear Admiral (Lower Half). But the person called Commander, Third Fleet, for example, is a 3-Star Admiral (Vice Admiral). Similarly, the captain of a ship isnt necessarily at the rank of Captain. They often are Commander in rank but not always. A Captain in the Marines, Army, or Air Force is a much lower rank than in the Navy, equivalent to a Navy Lieutenant. --- ___ Sari, Mom to DS (07/04) and DD (01/08); Pronouns: she/her/hers ...
