Depends what you're cooking on it. It's usually a good idea to wash the sheet anyway, it's just *significantly* easier to do so if you've lined it first.

It was a lie sort of. The one time I had to wash it after using parchment paper was when o made literal pizza bagels and the sauce soaked through. I was out of tin foil.

I usually go with parchment up to 400F, foil above that or if I'm wrapping something up (like roasting a packet of veggies).

Yes since your body is dirty. You only need to clean a baking sheet in extreme examples if you use any kind of covering.

this doesn't really work in this case, since your body also secretes and creates its own grime and grease

a steel sheet can't really do that

Ill use parchment paper or baking mats for drier foods. But if the food is overly wet or greasy, or if Im broiling something, Ill use foil.
