I know of black, green, white, oolong, pu-erh, and yellow. There's also a bunch of scented/floral tea and various tisanes like Rooibos or "red tea"

I accidentally went to a Starbucks once.

It was in an airport and the sign just said "coffee shop." I didn't know it was a Starbucks until I read the receipt. I think this was Charlotte; some of you guys might know what I'm talking about about.

The pastry was ok, but I don't really remember the coffee.

I've actually been there a few times before but only to order a hazelnut frap and haven't really been there in over 20 years. Every time I went the only thing I remember is being frustrated at fucking dumb ass "tall" like I'm gonna fucking beat the shit out of someone if I can't get a fucking normal sized drink.

Black, green, white, oolong, pu'er and yellow teas are all from the same plant (camelia sinensis), just harvested at different times and processed in different ways to allow for different oxidation amounts, and for the case of pu'er specifically is aged and fermented. Different locations are given different names, like an Assam tea has a different flavor profile than a Darjeeling, despite both being from India. And that's before we get into other treatments, like how lapsang souchong is smoked over local pine to give it a campfire smokiness flavor.

Tisanes are technically not teas, because they're not made from camelia sinensis.

Chai, the word itself, comes from Hindi. It's got a cognate with Turkish ay, probably because of trade imports.

Yes and then don't forget the harvest time matters as well, Darjeeling First Flush, Second Flush, and Third Flush/Autumnals are all different!
