It's a good thing I already know how it works because this makes no sense at all.

The seasons are also inverted in that rain and snow flow upwards from the ground to the clouds. Same with lightning.

The moon looks upside down from the southern hemisphere.

If you're familiar with lunar geography for example, you're familiar with the Tycho Crater being on the bottom half of the moon, but the Argentinean dude generally sees it on the top half of the moon.

The moon is in different cycles depending on where on Earth you are.

The Southern hemisphere also sees different stars/constellations in the night sky than we do in Northern.

Huh, I never thought about that before. Seems plausible. If the moon were stationary in the night sky (and the night eternal), and I were to look at it to the South and I kept walking South, eventually (after passing the equator), I'd be bending over backwards to see it. Naturally, I'm not going to do that for very long before I just turn around, and then the moon would then look upside-down compared to how it looked when I started walking in the Northern hemisphere.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. Are you suggesting that the moon might be in a full moon phase in France while at the same time being a new moon elsewhere on Earth? The moon is in the same phase regardless of where you are on Earth, currently waxing gibbous.

It's still all the same phase of the cycle, full, new, waxing, or waning. The difference is just in which side (left or right from the viewer's perspective) of the moon is illuminated when it is waxing or when it is waning.

!!! This explains why the new moon crescent is confusing. South sees it differently. Never knew this.

I am not sure we were taught about the seasons being different north hemisphere/ south hemisphere in school. I did outside reading. Unless you live on the equator, though, you can tell that the sun appears to move around through the year and you might deduce that seasons would be reversed.

And in the equator there's only two seasons Wet & Dry.

I love how they even copied us by naming it the "South" Pole. Way to never have an original idea, southern hemisphereans!

The thing about toilets flushing in the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere, though, is just a myth. The Coriolis effect, while truly making tornadoes spin in the opposite direction compared to tornadoes in the Northern Hemisphere, is just too large-scale to affect the small amounts of water in your toilet/sink/etc.; the direction the water flows really just depends on the way the toilet/sink/etc. was built.

thats what makes it so funny, because people watching that episode of the simpsons probably think the toilets actually do flush in reverse in australia... I know I did for a while after seeing that episode.

The earth is closer to the sun during December through February so we get insane uv's this time of year. Also the ozone layer is thinner because the northern hemisphere fucked us over. Thanks.

Sadly, you'd be quite surprised as to the amount of people who don't know this simple fact. I leget know people at my job who don't even know the sun is a star, bugs are animals, RGB primary colors, germ theory of disease (I work in a freaking pain clinic!), people in the far east, like Japan are a day ahead, and other basic common sense things they should have learned in school. And what's worse, some of these people are my bosses.
