Been wanting a hunting rifle for some time but I probably never will. I have this desire to procure my own meat, deer, game birds etc. but I dont think Im capable of field dressing an animal

No, but I might purchase one in the future. My girlfriend's family is insane and will not take well to them moving in with me.

I own two, and I hate them, but it's not like there's terribly many other options for self defense that are effective in the United States of Firearms.

Ok I actually own multiple but I just had the gun rack scene pop in my head when I read the topic title. I associate a lot of movie scene references with things people say. I fill my deep freeze with white tail deer every year and its delicious. Muzzleloader, shotgun, and archery are all different seasons and you can get multiple deer.

Nope I hate firing guns they make me flinch every time I've had to fire one (peer pressure and also my old job had me use one for training )

A few black powder guns, 3 to be exact but my state doesnt even consider them firearms. fun to shoot, but yeh they take work.
As to more modern i have 2. both were my carry at the time i had one or the other their own. both are on the older side and i just, only really carry the .357 since its younger and i am just way more used to it.

Id like to get a new carry gun but getting anything new or new~ish is hard in this state. id also love to get a lever action rifle but they are just a lot more money than i wish to dish out, especially since i have car things going on that id rather throw my hobby money at.

It makes me feel so much safer to hear that the person who said they would shoot someone for stealing a loaf of bread from them has a whole bunch of firearms.
