The graphics still look nice and the battle theme is a banger.

I really enjoyed it. Not even lying or being funny. I think it was only my second FF though with FFX being my first. I liked 13 more than 13-2 though despite most people being the opposite. Also, Fang is bae.

God, I remember people on CE being so hyped for it and taking off work/skipping school, then it came out and it was bad lol

The battle theme is what convinced me to buy it lmao. I mean I thought the game looked interesting already, but that battle theme made me feel like "Alright, this is too much epicness. I gotta get it."

I think this was the first, actually bad FF in the modern era.

While I havent truly enjoyed FF since before the merger when they were just Squaresoft I still think XIII gets way too much hate. It was ok. I enjoyed it enough to get platinum trophy on it and still somewhat had a good time with that battle system.

To me its way better than the XV, and what they did to XVI and the VII remakes is such a turn off I dont even want to play them. XV killed the series for me to where Im done playing them unless it drastically changes.

XIII is certainly much better than those.

Some of the best games in the series, and some of the best RPGs in the past few years.

I liked the characters, the setting, the music and graphically it blew me away at the time

One of my favorite Final Fantasy games. I am waiting for a remaster to be able to play it on PS5, hopefully some day.

FF13 is a great game and I spent a ton of time on gamefaqs when it came out. It's my only "expert" rating for the gamefaqs answer sections.

I wish more people have it a fair chance. The paradigm system was so damn fun

Started a new playthru a couple weeks ago. Right now on Grand Pulse just grinding cp to max out all current roles. Havent even gone to Oerba yet.

It was honestly easier to finish than Final Fantasy 12. Sometimes "bad" is more passable than "boring". And I can't say 13 is really good.

Great game. First FF that made even the slightest attempt at being hard.

I had to play 13 twice to actually enjoy it. The first time it felt like a chore. The second time I had a blast. The third time was pretty good but the flaws were more visible (that was about 2 years ago for the most recent play).

13-2 is awesome though if you focused on the monster training aspects

I hated it when it came out. I gave it a shot later, and still hated it. The best I can say is that it has a semblance of promise hence me going back, but God, I did not like it at all

Sazh is a great character

It has an incredible soundtrack, and Hope is one of Final Fantasy's best-written characters and receives WAY too much hate just because he's a kid in a video game.

Depending on what you hated about 13, I'd recommend giving 13-2 a try. It fixed a majority of the complaints that people had about 13. So while I enjoyed 13, 13-2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

Not even close. Lightning had so much versatility in Lightning Returns. Switching the schema she was in drastically affected her playstyle. I wish they had implemented that versatility with Clive instead of having him use the same weapon style no matter what (Ie, change his basic attacks, depending on which eikon he uses).

Oh no I agree. Returns combat is so much better, but the game design is just taking from what they learned from LR. Even the side quest and world design is pretty similar.

I enjoyed all 3 on PS3 back in the day, going to replay them on PC in the future with mods.

I really want to try FF13-2 and Lightning Returns, as it seemed like they made some good changes. One of the most annoying things in 13 is when you do a paradigm shift, it has that stupid cut scene of every character changing and wasting time. Every shift after that doesn't have the change which makes it feel a lot faster.

I actually did this and ended up enjoying it. Couldn't get into the third one, but the second is actually pretty enjoyable imo

I hate Lightning but I love her looks. I even used her attire on my FFXIV main.

Yeah, I heard 13-2 is actually a great game, and Lightning Returns is alright too

Neon you'd love 13-2. I remember you being extremely Neon about that Blue Reflection game and it feels a lot like that inserted into the core of FF13.
