How tho? The only excuse I can think of is "they are just Nintendo fanboys" but Metal Gear games have been released for Nintendo consoles

I also never played either of the NES Metal Gear games. Or Death Stranding. Or PT. Or anything Kojima has ever worked on.

I think the closest I've ever come is I played is Antarctic Adventure (on the ColecoVision) - because the first game Kojima ever worked on was the sequel to it. This one:

I hadn't played them until the 2011 HD edition was released on PS3. MGS3 in particular turned me into a huge fan of the series.

Speaking of Kojima, Snatcher and Policenauts are both great. Policenauts is a pain to play in English though

I'm not good at them, so I don't play them, but I have watched them.

I dont think its that crazy, stealth as a genre alone is enough to scare off a lot of people

Pretty much this, yeah. I think the only stealth game I've played is Splinter Cell.

It only asked about Metal Gear Solid, not the original NES one. I only played the original NES one.

I played them all but not a single Pokemon game.

I'v never played a single game in many popular franchises: MGS, Sonic, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Tomb Raider

They just don't seem like the kind of games that would appeal to me. I watched my brother play MGS when I was a kid.

I think it's also a hurdle to get into a heavily narrative series when you haven't played any of the previous entries. I don't even know if I can get Metal Gear 1-4 on PS5.

Never played it, because it was a good while before it was even available on a system I owned, so I just learned to look past anything Metal Gear. When the franchise finally released on a system that I owned/purchased, it was already hard-coded into me as a franchise to look past, so I just have no interest in it.

You don't need to play the original Metal Gear games (although those really deserve remakes). Metal Gear Solid for PS1 pretty much explains everything you need to know. It's like Dragon Ball Z

Not really my kind of game.

And I like stealth. But it's just stealth light.
