I think America could have a woman president, the powers that be just have to stop expecting the electorate to know a damn thing aside from what turns up on podcasts and the evening news, and run a strategy outside of "hey the other guy is awful but we're not actually going to say what we're doing for you" for their woman candidates Too far left, though, possibly. I think if she succeeds in getting the message out around the unceasing and inevitable "COMMUNIST!" spam from the right wing she'd probably win a number of folks over. Dunno about enough, but I think she'd do a better job of communicating platform points than we've had previously. That's a pretty tall order with the current state of corporate media, though in either case I think it's unlikely we get a lady candidate in the running for 2028. Maybe 2032 if the dems win. --- Why not go all in? ... Copied to Clipboard!

I actually know a few people at work (mid-Missouri, for context) who absolutely love Ocasio-Cortez, Sanders, and Trump. It's wild, but I also get it from a purely anti-establishment mindset. It's the same mentalities behind pushing Hillary back in the day. "She's such a good fundraiser" (Hillary)/"she has such great voter outreach" (AOC) - Cool, they'd be great DNC employees. Doesn't directly translate to being a good candidate. "She has such great relationships with party members and always does what the party needs" - Cool, they'd be great Congressional vote whips. Doesn't directly translate to being a good candidate. "The GOP's been attacking them for so long because it's SCARED" - Orrrr the GOP saw vulnerable, easy-to-boogeyman, low-hanging fruit, and seized the opportunity. The only thing that makes a good candidate is broad appeal to voters, and Hillary ended up with terrible numbers on that front, which AOC currently has as well. Swing states aren't going for AOC. AOC has a better chance than any current Progressive in the running. But she still has no chance. She is too far left and she's a woman. MOSTLY she's a woman. It's gonna take like decades of social justice and education to get a female in the office I think. Weird to think that Hilary was our last chance in a while. She really fucked up her campaigning cuz Dowald went around more of the obscure neighborhoods that edged him slightly in the electoral votes. You pretty much have to ease people into it. I think people now look fondly on Obama so Michelle is an option if they start like really early and establish her as the head honcho of the dems, but she hasn't really involved herself much recently. If you don't want to risk the race problem in the race, you go for a white woman who served in the military who also happens to be a centrist. But because Trump destroyed so many precedence and we now know the majority of the country is stupid as hell, you basically can't play fair anymore. The Dems need a "star" however. AOC is easily the biggest star the Dems have. She is a personality that unites a huge amount of Democrats and has appeal beyond those who "pay attention" to politics. Why do you think Trump ultimately has been successful? It's because he has star power. He was successful largely due to NOT being part of "the system".
