Was hearing an audio clip of the WH "press pool" and they were the typical sacks of shit they always are. Some piece of shit, Albert I think his name was don't remember his publication however Jean-Pierre called him by first name, asked a question where he first acknowledged that Biden clarified his comments, and followed that with asking if "that rhetoric was befitting of the President" which honestly made my jaw drop considering what Trump said as POTUS and what he's said as POTUS hopeful this time around. Jean-Pierre reminded him that Biden's WH clarified his statements that he was addressing the comments of HIchencliffe and that they put out a transcript where it was in writing...and then the sack of shit just basically repeated his same question with slightly different wording.

I was hearing one of my progressive pundits point out how pissed off the corporate mainstream media executives must be that Harris reminded everybody of the terrorist attack that is January 6th at the same spot where Trump initiated the first step of making it happen because our media has spent a lot of time not covering it and letting Trump try to whitewash what really happened that day with articles of him calling them patriots and political prisoners, giving Republicans ammo of mainstream media "see even they don't talk about it like you crazy Democrats do!", and that's why they're focusing so hard on this stupid non-story to get away from discussing her speech at the Ellipse. And it makes sense.

Comedian at Trump rally - "Yup. Pure garbage"
Biden - "Well I think you're garbage"
The Press - "How could Biden say something so mean! Just because some silly comedian said something or another about whatever it was doesn't mean you can say garbage! That's offensive!!!"

The media's clearly been in the tank to make this as competitive as possible for years. If Trump was held to the same standard as Biden, Trump would've been disqualified from running for office in 2015.

The WH team has clarified that with a transcript within minutes. The problem is society at large and the WH press pool (as they demonstrated with their asinine questions to Jean-Pierre regarding this)/media in general shows they just don't care. This is something they can bludgeon a Democrat with and they're going to beat that dead horse until something big distracts them from it.

Trump had just attacked Harris over employment figures before he said: "And it's not her, it's the people that surround her. They're scum. They're scum, and they want to take down our country. They are absolute garbage."

He's casting blame for some employment issue before saying it's not even Harris but rather the people surrounding her.

That reads to me as him specifically insulting the people who advise Harris on policy. You know, the people who actually physically surround her. Her campaign and its allies. The average voter doesn't surround a candidate, and has no control over employment figures.

The Lincoln Project chose to characterize it as him insulting random Harris voters but the LP is a bunch of hardcore neocons who want control over the GOP back from MAGA, and beyond that clipped the quote out of its full context, so I'd definitely have my own look into the quote before taking their description at face value.

If Trumps wins, the media will be neutered. I say that even if Harris wins, the media should still be neutered. They can no longer be trusted to represent the truth properly.

Can anything be realistically done about the media and their fascism support? Something absolutely needs to happen. Not sure what, but something. They can not be let off the hook for all their BS if Harris wins. They'll just do the same when the next fascist republican comes along.

Sure, social media "news" is a sewer, but this remains a debatable point.

IMO it's a no brainer that political news from social media or wherever the fuck is better than MSM both sides garbage. The loss if the MSM goes down would be the loss of coverage of non-political topics.
