Why did Baker do that without trying to get out of bounds? One of a QB's fundamental job duties is to keep an eye on the clock!

It's fine, his head couldn't be fully in it after that terrible injury.

I have no problems with Baker. He isn't the best QB, but he is accountable and does his best. He'll be fine.

Peyton and Eli were lamenting the situational awareness at the end there with it being two scores and how there was no point in letting the clock run.

But I get that the game was basically over and that the idea of "kick a fg, recover onside kick, hail mary, fight in ot inside of ~30 seconds" wouldn't really be taken seriously and just let the game end.

I have yet to win any game this season decided by the :00 field goal, it's pretty uncanny!

The Chargers last offensive play being an immediate throwaway right at the 2 minute warning made this feel inevitable honestly. They punted that drive.

Taking a knee when you're behind? That's a new one. But it makes sense: Milk the clock, call time out with 1 second on the play clock, repeat with 1 second on the game clock, kick the FG, win the game.

Teams playing it safe for the game-winning FG with no time left isn't a new thing!

Yeah, running the clock down for a last second FG isn't really new. I guess usually you see teams do super obvious runs for 0-1 yards before a last play to put the ball where the kicker wants it, but if you're good with everything then taking knees makes sense.

I'm not sure who the Cardinals play next but I'd bet on them losing by 3 TDs now that I'm starting to wonder if they might be good again

(Spoilers the 49ers are going to destroy that bad Dallas defense. If they somehow can't do that, they're done.)

if Deebo and Jennings both play then it should be GG.

I've heard that we *might* get CMC back as well, but I'm going to assume they will hold him until after our Bye

I'm pretty sure I saw Shanahan say CMC isn't playing this week but maybe after the bye

Yeah if 49ers were healthy this would be the kind of game that would get McCarthy fired under normal ownership.

But 49ers are in contention for the "most dead team" award. I actually think that will be a sad, close, depressing game for both sides.

Nah, Dallas can scrape 9 wins together this year and get crushed by the 49ers in the rematch or something

NFC West seems pretty banged up its not impossible San Francisco still makes it in if they lose and Im not sure how different Tampa is going to feel without Evans and Godwin

Basically competing with the NFC North and Washington/Philly for wild card spots
