The very end drags it down a bit since I'm not a huge fan, but most of the game is fantastic from the atmosphere to the characters to the story. Never played Golden if this matters. Inaba is kind of boring imo and there isn't much to do, I don't care for the cast much overall, and I just don't like the way it looks. Also didn't like the story after Mitsuo. Then you've got silent protagonists, which are among my least favorite things in gaming, especially when combined with social simulation mechanics that make him into Mister Infallible and lead to a dozen different romance options. P4(G) is kind of the perfect storm that manages to mostly overcome that uphill battle. It's one of my favorite casts of characters in any RPG, Inaba is a great setting, and the main mystery of the plot is compelling and very well written outside of a few notable missteps. LightningStrikes 10/09/24 6:27:00 AM #30:	9/10. The way it handles some of its themes has aged poorly, especially around Kanji. However its still a terrific RPG and in my view the best PS2 game. To which point if I rated MGS3 as a 9.5, change that to a 9. It makes me think I dont think there are any PS2 games above a 9/10 for me, and I think only one 10/10 for the whole generation (~~Metroid Prime~~).
