Delcatty/Skitty, I really want normalize to be a good ability but it's never gonna happen.
I say give that ability to Regigigas or Slaking.

Rampardos, I really loved dinosaurs as a kid and pachycephalosaurus was my favorite so I love the Pokemon based on it. Rampardos is infamously terrible competitively and doesn't have instances of being great in-game like some other Pokemon I love that aren't high tier (Blastoise, Articuno).

I am here once again to disagree.

No Guard shenanigans

It's a fun gimmick, but that doesn't make it good. Golurk doesn't even learn enough good moves to take advantage of No Guard. It's really just Dynamic Punch and to a lesser extent Stone Edge. That's not worth the opponents' Hurricanes, Will-O-Wisps, and other low/shaky accuracy moves always hitting it without fail. I'd argue that Golurk is "better" using Iron Fist and using elemental punches alongside its STAB moves. On top of that, Golurk's stats are still bad. Its speed stat is stuck in the no man's land of bad enough to not let it sweep well (plus no move to boost that speed) but not terrible enough to be good for a Trick Room team, meaning it'll constantly get out-sped and hit hard on its mediocre defenses and common weaknesses.

I adore Golurk and its design, but it fucking sucks. Even in its debut gen, the best it ever did was NU, and it's kept dropping ever since. Even for in-game playthroughs, there's better Ground and Ghost types to use, and Golett evolves at such a high level that you're usually carrying an unevolved Pokemon deep into the game. The only reason to use a Golurk is because you like it specifically, not because it's actually good.

Torkoal sucks major ass, but I still use him sometimes in my Emerald runs. Turtles are cool.

Pidgeot too, everyone and their mother knows Fearow is better, but I don't give a damn. Pidgeot is way cooler, Fearow is mad ugly.

Ledian
It's a nightmare in Pokemon Rejuvenation with its crest.

If held by a Ledian, this item allows its holder to use punching moves (e.g. Power-Up Punch, Ice Punch, etc.) 4 times in a row. Secondary effects of these moves can only trigger on the first 2 uses, the effect also applies to Comet Punch so you can deliver from 8-20 punches.

Everything you said makes sense but I just don't agree. Especially after IoA introduced Poltergeist, no Guard w/ Earthquake Stone Edge, Poltergeist and DynamicPunch became my go to. Used it all the time in UU.

I could probably dig up a few, but I can't be bothered. So instead there's the obvious picks like Liepard, Persian, Delcatty, etc. There's obviously others, but just to name a few.

They can serve a role and function on the team, but it's a lot of effort for something that's often 'eh' at best. I mean, iirc I had a hell of a time using Liepard against the random trainer battles in white at times, lol. I'm sure I could figure some amazing tactic out, but I can't be bothered... because I haven't played since white 2.

Torkoal is actually better in competitive in recent gens because it gets Drought starting in gen 7. No matter how bad the Pokemon is otherwise, having an ability to auto-set weather will always make a Pokemon usable. Plus it has pretty solid bulk, can set up Stealth Rock, can Rapid Spin away the other team's hazards, can hit physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp, and is slow enough to see good use on Trick Room teams.

I remember lending my Pokmon Sapphire to my then 9 year old sister (I was forced to let her play it by our parents) and getting it back 3 hours later with somewhere between 8-12 Tropius' filling up my box. She'd used my master ball on the first one and called it "Tropiary".

My favourite Pokmon is Gengar, closely followed by Blastoise and Charizard, then Steelix, Metagross, and Dragonite. All of which are pretty poky (pun not intended) in battles.

Naff Pokmon that I like are Kricketune, Golem, Torkoal and Pidgeot.

Mightyena I always like the "dog" pokemon I guess its probably better after the physical special split but it was so bad in gen 3 and I didn't understand why
Its a lot better in ORAS if thats of interest. You even get a Pooch with an elemental fang attack near the start.

My brother supped me up with the Skitty that knows pay day. Throw a secret power TM on it from Slateport and you've got a half decent silk scarf user.

Delcatty has quickly become a favorite. My brother named it Dirtbean and I love it.

I know it has some fringe uses like being a suicide sticky web setter, but thats not needed in regular play. In regular play its just a cool looking spider that tends to die after like 2 hits. And in competitive play, Ive never really liked using Pokemon that are just meant to set up hazards while surviving a hit with Focus Sash only to maybe get 1 other move then die afterwards.

Gyarados is my favorite Pokmon, but his double weakness to electricity makes me sad. He should be dragon/water, not flying/water. Idk why they even went with flying. Hes a sea serpent that evolves from a carp.

I have not played any of the games since Dexit, so I can't say I ever used it.

It is obviously my favorite Paradox pokemon but that is not saying much since I find most of them boring. I also heard it was OP so glad Delibird some in some form has had time to shine

Maybe for those that knew what they were doing. Alas I was/am too lazy (aka dumb) to really dig into meta for pokemons. Then you have those that have highly specialized breeding and training regimens across multiple cartridges for years on end.

I like to throw my pokes into the pokeathlon and look at em scurry like termites on my screen.
