well I just finished the new story content and what the fuck it was so short

Last patch of 1.x was also short. It's basically just setup.

Haven't gotten too far into it here yet though.

Oh they also increased the MoC autocomplete from 7 to 9. I know this because I did the 7 skip pre patch, then got notified to do it again at 9 lol

Its for returning players only. People that haven't played in several months can use the code from a friend or random person when they come back and you both get rewards when they do certain things (spend x amount of trailblaze power/log in certain amount of times/whatever it is).

Not really something you can interact with yourself if you are currently playing asiding from fishing for people that haven't played in awhile to come back lol

Finished the main story for this patch.

Similar to 2.3 there wasn't a huge amount here, but I definitely liked what we got. I am 100% here for all future pissed off Tingyun content, and the teaser at the end with THE Herta was also cool. The Sunday stuff isn't my preferred direction to take the character, but it was at least done decently well and gave some more opportunity for Welt to get some time in the spotlight.

Definitely excited for at least the story content of version 3.

To be clear this never stops.

You eventually get used to it though--hopefully--and learn what most of them mean. Again, hopefully.

Looking at that playlist, it's very funny to me that Bailu's trailer went viral.

Also that Serval has a trailer for some reason, though I guess they give you her for free. She's probably the most aesthetically interesting launch 4*, too, moreso than some of the launch 5*s even.

This Apocalyptic Shadow is going to be a lot easier with Fugue I think. Took me 3 attempts to max.

Gonna start prepping for The Herta. Glad that we finally have another character who definitely wants Izumo planars for the first time since Acheron.

Ok yeah I don't really understand the dinosaur tv aoe boss. Fugue promo makes sense. I guess it needs aoe super break, I don't really have anyone for that.

Honestly the biggest issue is both sides of this cycle what Ruan Mei on them. So whichever one doesn't get Ruan Mei can get Fugue.

I have no idea what the intended method is but I used Firefly Super Break for the first side and then brought Acheron for the tv boss, who pretty much wins with one ultimate after you successfully get off a weakness break. Went digging through the ancient catacombs of my account to bring out my Welt with the Herta Shop Break Effect light cone. Probably should have switched to a Break Effect rope on him also but whatever I'm already done.

Edit: Actually not sure if the main boss weakness is tied into break effect or not so maybe the build didn't matter, but being able to aoe slow while ticking up Acheron's ult every turn is good either way

Uh I just used Rappa and Lingsha on TV boss and it was easy xD. Like the moment you get the break in, Rappa will just do like 3 million damage.

And Feixiao on first half cus for some reason they gave wind weakness to Cocolia.

Also Fugue replaces Harmony Trailblazer. That way you're free to use Remembrance Trailblazer next patch.

Fuge can also replace Black Swan in Kafka teams or even Ruan Mei if needed. And she can work with Acheron! Versatile unit.

Wait is she really as good as Ruan Mei for Kafka? My Black Swan is E1 so I probably would never replace her, but my support or triple dot options are kinda lacking. Though I still have no Break units so she probably still isn't worth much.

I don't know if AS good is the way to put, probably not, but if the other side wants a break team and you still have HTB geared up to stick on it, she can take the spot better than most.

Oh, yeah, I guess I worded that poorly. I wanna be able to select different TBs in the character select screen with a button tap.

I guess it's not a BIG DEAL....but I'd rather every TB just be in the selection menu at all times.

I also don't know who to take for the standard 5* gift...I got Himeko E0, Welt E1, Bronya E1 already, though I rarely use the other two anymore. Only have Gepard of the other three but they're all lol. I guess there's like five months to decide for some reason so no rush

Still praying for a set to come out specifically based around EHR AND Crit (assumedly for one of the new characters) that can retroactively aid Welt's nightmarish build difficulty.

As for the selector, I went with Himeko. Her stocks only rise with age. If you don't get Sunday OR Sparkle, Bronya is assuredly still the best target though. If you don't have or intend to get Yunli then maybe grab Clara, though?

It's not the worst but I think this was just a very weird fight. I think the dedicated Break characters are almost always going to be better

Oh yeah I completely forgot Clara. Who I have at E1, so probably not worth much. You're probably right that it's Bronya though. I've pretty much dropped Seele so I don't play Bronya much anymore, but now that I have Aventurine and E0S1 Topaz, she probably fits in my Ratio team since those two carry debuffs for the most part. Not planning on Sunday and definitely not going in on Sparkle lol.

Yeah if you don't have those two characters then you CAN'T beat Bronya.

Yeah sounds like for your case its definitely Bronya.

I'm waiting personally myself on after my Big Herta pulls for the selector. I've got a guarantee on Fugue so I wanna see if I get one of the ones I'm considering first. Basically between E1 Clara, E1 Himeko, and E2 Bronya, which are all really good eidolons. I use Clara and Himeko more than Bronya (I have Sparkle), though, so idk.

There have been some rumors floating around that Reca may end up being a Rememberance character for that Standard Banner down the line, like how they added that catgirl in Genshin. I don't know if there's much to substantiate it, but it wouldn't be that surprising if they did it.

I also assumed if they added a new Standard it would be Screwllum, being an Imaginary unit which is missing and a character that appears early in the game, but I suppose Reca could also be Imaginary?

Speaking of that 5* ticket, I noticed it too, but wasn't sure what to do with it. Should I wait until I see what I get from that starter warp thing (the discounted one where it says I'm guaranteed a 5* inside 50 pulls I think?) and then decide? Should I just pick now? If so, is there a "obvious best choice" that I'll be kicking myself for not taking? From the above discussion it sounds like Bronya is the best choice?

Bronya is the best Standard unit, but she's a Harmony (support), so I would absolutely wait to see what you get from the guarantee first. We should hopefully know what the 2 reruns are alongside the 2 new banners in 3.0 soon, so you'll be able to figure out if any of the 8 units in that pool (between that and the 4 in this patch as well) tickle your fancy enough to try for.

Of the standard 5 stars, the standouts are Bronya, Clara, and Himeko. Bronya is a very powerful support but she really needs a strong DPS to shine and needs an entire team built around her to get full dividends. Clara is a strong all-purpose DPS who is about as plug and play as any HSR character gets, though she does benefit from teammates who support followup attacks. Himeko is an AoE specialist who is fantastic at cleaning up trash but loses a fair bit of performance when it comes to single targets; fortunately, most bosses in this game regularly summon adds so she usually has something to do, and for general story and overworld wandering she's plenty powerful.

Of the others, Bailu is fine but generally outperformed by almost anyone else you might put in the sustain slot, Gepard can be made to work but runs into similar issues as Bailu and is also less forgiving when things go wrong, Welt is best used in hyperspecialized teams specifically designed around what he provides (which require characters you aren't likely to have access to as a new player), and Yanqing is straight up the worst 5 star in the game.

I should point out though that Bailu isn't outperformed by any other permanent character, only limited sustains. So she can still be a very good pickup early on and carry you pretty hard. Same for Gepard.

But Bronya is probably the best pick long term. Clara, Himeko, and Welt are also quite good, though (but I wouldn't pick Welt because as Not_an_Owl said, his best teams really require specific setup you won't have access to- if you do happen to get him early though from rolling, he's good to have and build).

Yeah avoid Yanqing though. I'm not sure I'd even recommend building him if he's your first 5 star and only option lol... he just doesn't perform on almost any level.

If I ever get E6 Yanqing I swear I'll find a way to optimize him.

I feel like we're just one 5* Preservation unit with some type of single target shield meta away from making him a star.

tbqh I would take Gallagher over either of them, and he's a 4 star!

Yeah I think Gallagher would actually be the better pickup at high Es.

Especially now that Bailu's stock is gonna go down more with Rememberance meta meaning her Skill RNG gets worse with more targets.

Bronya is probably the pick if you're thinking long term about endgame content, but I will say I don't think she's very new-player friendly at all. She automatically makes skill point usage very restrictive on any team she's on, and it's easy to lose out on a lot of her value if you aren't really worrying about speed tuning with your relics yet. Like poorly optimized Bronya is probably a worse character than poorly optimized Tingyun or something, who I think is free?

For sure, eventually Bailu will get replaced. But before you get those higher eidolon levels for Gallgher she makes pushing higher difficulty content as you're progressing through the game much easier (Forgotten Hall, SU difficulties, etc).

I still have 10 pulls left on that banner but need to get the tickets for it but looks like that lets me mostly split the difference and move Bronya into the solid lead for my ticket choice I think?

Also, Stellar Jade - I noticed it can be exchanged for Warp Tickets. My intuition here tells me I should use it to exchange for gold tickets only but is that right? And should I keep any on hand for any reason or just convert it all to gold tickets?

You mean, like, in terms of pull value? Maybe. However that's all assuming you have the DPS to pair with them. Acheron was the most powerful unit in 2.x by a country mile. Also Sunday is weird because he won't matter until 3.x, so now he's just a Jing Yuan buffing machine.

Just convert it all to gold tickets. Never silver. You don't gotta do it in the shop though, it will convert for you when pulling.

There are also 2 shops that cost currency you GET from pulling. For the high end shop, some of those 5* light cones are decent, but not worth sacrificing 30 pulls you could buy instead considering how rarely the starter 5* light cones are that much better than what you can get from 4*s, especially nowadays. Obviously no silver tickets here either, and it's not worth exchanging for 4* units since you'll get them all eventually anyways.

Now the lower end shop, which has a limit of 5 per month for gold and silver tickets, that one you just buy all both tickets. No reason not to.

If you're speaking about the endgame meta, Acheron is maybe hanging on to top 5 DPS nowadays. For all the talk about certain characters being broken and others being bad, everything always seems to settle with the newest characters just slightly being the most powerful, more or less. If I had to give my top meta characters overall for the 3 endgame modes, it'd be something like:

1. Feixiao
2. Rappa
3. Firefly
4. Yunli (Boothill is around here somewhere, but he's super top-tier for Apoc and super bottom-tier for PF)
5. Acheron
6. Jing Yuan (he's back baby)
7. Himeko
8. Blade
9. IDK DOT teams are around here somewhere
10. Dr. Ratio
11. Clara
12. Topaz (she's more of a support, but is suddenly surprisingly effective as hypercarry DPS thanks to Sunday)
