I've fooled my mind. It doesn't know what it craves. Can't crave two things at once, can you?

It feels like there's strong negative pressure in my head.

The cigarettes are overriding the booze and it's not even close

When I quite smoking cold turkey, the first 3 days were the hardest. I used gum and chewed on straws. Sleeping was difficult. Then it was about 2 weeks of strong cravings but not as bad as the first 3 days. I also didn't drink for awhile when I was quitting. I have never been a heavy drinker so that was not hard, but I know when I drank I craved cigarettes more.

I knew as a kid never to smoke cos the DARE program educated us on the addiction.

Alcohol was more widely accepted as a social norm. Ie drinking at sporting events or work gatherings. I knew I'd be doing that plus it's not addicting. I limit myself to about 4 drinks a week. Usually on a Friday. Red wine is my preferred drink if I can pair it with a nice steak/fish dinner

Nice, TC. Planning to do so forever? Just a break for awhile?

I quit booze earlier this year. Don't miss it. Haven't vaped nicotine in years, as well.

I still consume cannabis. I'm aware of my current usage and am trying to plan accordingly. But to me, at least currently, the cannabis is manageable, and actually beneficial, while booze definitely wasn't.

Try quitting sugar next, the health benefits on not eating shit are huge, and sugar might as well be considered a drug as well.

Yeah the quitting is hardest when I'm sitting at my desk bored. Smoking was like second nature when I sat here. At night I sit there double bored. Maybe I should be bored. Maybe I should be doing something else with my life.

I'm really into lifting weights right now and I read that alcohol will kill your gains. Then I figured, the hell with it, I might as well quit smoking too.

I'll probably come back to drinking socially but not for a long time. I'm never going to smoke again. I wish I never knew how good it felt. I don't like weed and it's never done anything for me.

When I quit last time, I hit 1 month, had a massive craving, got upset that it was still hitting me just as hard even though the websites said the cravings would stop at 2 weeks (lol), and gave in.

Actually I'm trying to go vegan now. I wouldn't be ready to give up sugar.

Tobacco is wacko, maybe the only good thing DARE did, as a kid you see how nasty smoking is when your parents do it.

Good work, hope you can keep it up.

Not much of an improvement, but you could always request some Steam games from me if you need something to do while bored. I have several hundred leftover bundle keys thanks to all the repeats they do, I can spare some.

Haven't had any alcohol related products that I know of since 12-31-99. My god mom was very adamant on getting me to share in the toast. Addiction is just another form of brainwashing. Power through it.

The cravings took a long long time to fully go away. I actually was a bit of a social smoker for a little while. If I was at a concert or a party where I was drinking and others were smoking I would sometimes bum a smoke off them. I was always able to not continue the next day, so this was only an every once in awhile thing. They generally recommend not doing that.

So I would say if you do have one for whatever reason, don't go buy that pack, don't smoke again the next day. It has been years since I last had one, but even occasionally to this day I will get a craving.
